Chapter 4

Konig pov:

I shut the door behind me.

Scheiße, why do I have to be so awkward? He's a prisoner, not a guest. Get that through your thick skull, Konig.

As one half of my brain is having an argument with each other, the other half is stuck on how shockingly blue the soldier's eyes were.

His eyes were genuinely stunning, like the ocean on a cloudy day or the morning sky during winter.

He's a soldier.

Well, yes, but that doesn't mean I can't find him slightly attractive, only a bit. Not that much.

Half of his face is covered by his mask.

Shut up.

...

Good. I hate the reasonable side of my brain.

Shit he was pretty.

I walk back to the control room, where Horangi is sitting, monitoring the cameras of the outer perimeter of the base, making sure Keegan's buddies don't try and come to get him.

"How'd it go?" Horangi asks, not looking up from his screen.

"Alright." I say, sitting down at the big conference table, looking at the files Horangi found on the soldier.

"Did you make any new friends this time?" He asks me, like I'm a kindergartener.

"Shut up before I staple you to the ceiling." I say, looking through the files.

This earns a small chuckle from Horangi.

As I look through the files, something seems off.

"Hey Horangi?"

"Hmm?"

"Does the soldier's files have a profile or no?"

"Hmm?" Horangi looks up from the monitor, going over to see the files I have in my hand. "No, his files didn't have a picture for him. Lots of the information is redacted as well."

"Weird..." I say, looking over the files again.

I see a bunch of random information, such as his childhood home, past jobs, apparently he was a Special Forces member, as well as serving for the military.

After a bit, I stand up, stretching.

"I'm going to go look at the damage those people did. See if I can help." I say to Horangi.

"Okay, don't forget to be back by 22:00. We have some work to do." Horangi says, typing at the computer.

I turn around, "Wait, what kind of work?"

"You know, that soldier isn't going to spit out information on his own."
