Hour 1: The stench of alcohol wipes and sick people filled the room while the heart rate monitors and breathing machines had been eerily loud recently. I can't stop playing with my rings or anxiously tapping my foot, which probably didn't help with the overload of noise.

Hour 3: The waiting room seems small. I think the walls are slowly closing around me, but that could be anxiety speaking. I just hope liv is ok. I'd wait years for her.

Hour 5: The hospital loudspeakers went off, I listened intently just in case it could be Olivia.. which it never was, but you never know. The one time it was liv, they were just saying what operating room she would be having surgery in, which sent me into a spiral, but I don't really wanna talk about that, all i'll say is that i was hoping to a god i wasn't sure if believed in she was alive. I asked for updates on Olivia, and they said she was in surgery.

Hour 7: All my nails have been bitten off, and I think these white walls are getting to my head. I've been sitting here for who knows how long, just overthinking this whole situation. Could I have done anything?

Hour ?: "Is there a miss abrams out here?" Said a nurse. She looked tired like me. "Yes thats me," i piped they had finally let me into the room to see liv. she was on one of the beeping machines that was driving me insane but she was alive.

"She's just been through risky liver surgery, so don't expect her to wake up instantly." Said the nurse leaving me in the room alone with liv.

I looked at oliva with wide eyes. She never expected something like this to happen. Everything was going so well. How could i let this happen. I just thought that somehow, even at her worst moments, Olivia still looked like a masterpiece of fine detail.

Now sitting beside her, I'd decided to hold her hand. I read somewhere a while ago that it could be comforting to feel the touch of someone you love while in a time of distress, and well, what's more distressing than this. Do I count as someone she loves?

Over the time, it took for her to wake up. I looked up different things online. A common thing I saw online was reading to them, so i decided to read to Olivia to try and make this experience at least a little more enjoyable even though she was unconscious. She decided to read her the book from her car, "the seven husbands of Evelyn hugo."

Nobody's pov:

Gracie had just taken a pause on reading to her and began tucking Olivia's hair behind her ear when the younger girl had started to wake up. "Hey liv," gracie whispered in her gentle, sweet tone. Olivia opened her eyes, realizing who was leaning over her, gracie went to speak when her heart monitor started rapidly, beeping unlike before when it was at a calm, steady pace. gracie shot up to try and get a nurse

"Can we have a doctor in here?!" she yelled out to the response of the nurse from earlier, who began rushing in when the monitor started to slow down.

"What happened?" Asked the nurse confused. Everything seemed to be in order.

"She'd just woken up, and her heart rate spiked, and now it's back down," gracie scrambled, running a hand through her dishevelled hair.

"Ok, deep breaths, miss abrams. You probably just flustered your girlfriend, " she said with one foot out the door

"Oh, she's not my -" gracie said, cut off by the shutting of the door.

after the nurse had left gracie let out a small laugh, Olivia's cheeks flushed red with the chuckle gracie let off at what the nurse had said now that she had realised there was no hiding how red in the face she'd gotten, her cheeks gone completely scarlet.

"Even in a hospital bed, you look pretty, " gracie mumbled, but Olivia heard still choosing to ignore it and not embarrass the girl.

"So this thing is like a lie detector, huh?" Gracie said, sitting back in the chair beside liv. "Wait, can I ask you questions so u have to answer with the truth?"

Olivia tilted her head, giving the taller girl a side eye.

"Come on, it'll be fun. Besides, what's the worst that could happen anyway?" She shrugged, attempting to convince Olivia.

"Ok, fine, ask away." Olivia reluctantly agreed.

She was silent for a second, trying to think of a good question. "Who's your current celebrity crush?"

Much to gracie's surprise, Olivia's heart rate sped up in a matter of seconds. She awkwardly chucked before giving her answer, "Maybe I should rest, I mean, ice just been through surgery -

"Liv just answer the damn question. I promise I've had worse crushes. i won't judge you." Gracie interrupted."Sorry for interrupting, by the way. Continue. " She quickly apologised.

"As I was saying before, I was rudely interrupted." She joked." I don't believe I have one currently," she said. Heart rate through the roof, might I add.

"Alright then, I'll let you rest. This is my cue to leave." Gracie said, picking up her jacket to leave even though she'd waited hours to just talk to her.

Right as she had stepped out the door, rodrigo interrupted. "wait-" she panicked. "Could you stay with me. I'd love to finish that book you were reading me."
