In the Pigsty of Freedom

In the pearl of the East, where dreams collide,
Politics in the Philippines, where truths reside,
An immense mound of excrement we see,
In the pigsty of freedom, it claims to be.

A land once adorned with hope and grace,
Now tainted by power's deceitful embrace,
Where promises float like whispers in the air,
But actions speak louder, leaving hearts in despair.

Beneath the golden rays of a tropical sun,
Shadows dance, revealing battles never won,
Corruption's stench permeates the halls,
As greed and ambition build their walls.

In this free verse of chaos, we find,
A nation entangled, struggling to unwind,
Where the people's voice, once strong and clear,
Is silenced by the clatter of the elite's cheer.

Elections become a masquerade parade,
Where puppets perform while the truth's betrayed,
The masses yearn for change, for a brighter day,
But the cycle repeats as hope fades away.

Yet, amidst this mound of filth and despair,
A flicker of resilience, a spirit still aware,
A call for justice, for unity to rise,
To reclaim their rights and tear down the guise.

Oh, Philippines, land of beauty and pain,
Let not your spirit be drowned in disdain,
For within your people lies a flame unyielding,
A testament to the strength you're concealing.

In the pigsty of freedom, where excrement lies,
May the power of truth and justice arise,
And from this medium-sized poem, may it be said,
That change, though daunting, can still be fed.
