Shubman stirred in his sleep, reaching out to hold Anya, only to find an empty space next to him, causing panic to surge through him. He hastily got up, his ears catching the sound of running water from the bathroom, abruptly ceasing as soon as he left the bed. The bathroom door swung open, revealing a tired yet refreshed Anya.
"Why are you bathing at 6:30 in the morning, and you know it's risky to do it alone?" Shubman scolded her, concern etched on his face, as she caught her breath and collapsed onto the bed.
"I know, but I wanted to do things by myself in these last days, and besides, we need to get ready to watch the sunrise," she explained, lying down and trying to calm herself.
"Can you stop using those words, please?" Shubman requested, attempting to hold back tears.
"Haan, thik hai, baba, nahake aa jaldi," she replied, her eyes still closed, attempting to relax.
Shubman sighed, finding it peculiar by how casually she approached the situation. He sighed softly once more, removing his T-shirt, and wrapping a towel around his waist as he prepared to head to the bathroom.
After a good ten minutes, he emerged from the bathroom, vigorously drying his hair with one towel, another one casually draped around his waist. Anya glanced up from her phone, only to catch her breath as she found herself unexpectedly captivated by the effortlessly appealing sight before her. Clearing her throat, she quickly averted her gaze, choosing to stare at the wall in an attempt to conceal her flustered state. Unfazed, he smirked, clearly enjoying the effect he had on her.
Anya attempted to regain her composure, pretending to be engrossed in her phone. She could feel his eyes on her, the mischievous smirk evident in his voice as he spoke.
"Well, Anya, do I dazzle you that much?" he teased, his tone laced with amusement.
Rolling her eyes, she replied, "Don't flatter yourself. I just didn't expect you to look so... put together."
He chuckled, walking over to where she sat. "Put together? Is that your way of saying I clean up nicely?"
Anya fought the blush threatening to surface. "You know what I mean," she mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
He sat down beside her, still clad in nothing but a towel, and she couldn't help but steal a quick glance.
He kissed the skin of her breast which was revealed by the deep cut of her Punjabi suit and asked, "Is my heeriye blushing?"
She closed her eyes and let out a groan as his lips moved up her neck until her lip, where he stopped muttering against her lips. "I will get ready can't miss the sunrise".
He turned aside, giving her a wicked smirk as she sighed and gave him a fierce look, but she knew how to get even.
After getting ready, he handed Anya his jacket and a warm ear cap, making sure she wouldn't feel the bite of the winter chill. Cruising through the dimly lit lanes of Chak Kherawala, he drove at a leisurely pace, savouring every moment of the crisp, cold wind. The darkness enveloped them, but the glow of the city's lights flickered in the distance. The slow drive was not only to relish the winter air but also to prioritize safety on the quiet roads. He was driving over the deserted roads when he felt warm and rough lips brush against his neck. His hand tensed on the handle as he felt her teeth graze against his skin. He moaned but remained calm, slamming on the brakes and reprimanding her, "Chucky not now, not when I am riding the bike."
