Perfect. That's what Lyra had to be. Raised by the Malfoy's, her family. She never believed what she was taught growing up, that Purebloods were better. She didn't even know if she was a Pureblood. Although, her uncle claimed she was as good as due to her father's actions in attempting to rid the world of 'filth'. Her father was Lord Voldemort. She'd learned that at seven. She didn't like that. Lyra absolutely hated that she was related to him, and she didn't want to be like him. But, she knew she had a part to play. She had to be perfect. So, she pretended. And the act would continue at Hogwarts,

"Lyra, you listening to me?" Draco asked, Lyra looked over and nodded.

"Yeah you were saying how excited you were to be in Slytherin" she answered, Draco eyed her before nodding and talking to Crabbe and Goyle. Lyra didn't like Crabbe and Goyle. Pansy turned to look at her, looking awkward,

"What's on your mind?" Pansy and Lyra had been best friends since they were four years old. Pansy knew almost everything about her,

"I guess I'm just nervous, what if I don't get Slytherin?" Pansy rolled her eyes and put her arm around her, Lyra smiled ever so slightly.

"Hey, you will be sorted into Slytherin. You're a Slytherin. Don't worry about it" Pansy told her, Lyra nodded. Her best friend was right. She was a Slytherin. She was ambitious and cunning. There was no way she wouldn't be sorted into Slytherin.

Lyra was told who she was allowed to be friends with. Stick to noble families, certainly no Weasleys. She intended to follow these rules, after all, she needed to perfect. She couldn't stray from the path lined up for her, she had no choice.

"Come along" Draco commanded and pulled her through the crowd in the entrance hall, confused Lyra followed her cousin. He dragged them toward someone she instantly recognised. Someone she was told to be friends with. Harry Potter. "The name's Malfoy" Draco smirked, looking at Harry, "Draco Malfoy, this is my cousin Lyra Black" he offered his hand to Harry. Lyra stared confused at the interaction.

"Hello?" Harry replied, looking confused too, there was a redhead stood next to him, he was laughing, he was a Weasley.

"Think my name's funny do you? Well there's no need to ask yours red hair and a hand me down robe? You must be a Weasley" he snapped, the boy went redder than his hair. Lyra bit her lip and looked down slightly, "you don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort Potter, I can help you there" Harry scoffed,

"I can tell the wrong sort for myself thanks" he turned and walked off with Ron, Lyra smirked slightly as she was dragged back off by her cousin. Pansy and her immediately discussed what had just transpired until a voice caused them to quieten.

"Welcome to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, my name is Professor McGonagall and I am the Deputy Headmistress, Transfiguration teacher and Head of Gryffindor House. In a moment, you will take your seats in the Great Hall with your peers, but before you do, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin" Lyra felt Pansy nudge her slightly as Slytherin was mentioned, a smile on her face. "If you'll follow me" McGonagall was a rather tall woman and had a pointed face, she led them into the hall.

There were four long tables, lined with students all wearing their house colour tie. Green for Slytherin. Red for Gryffindor. Blue for Ravenclaw. And Yellow for Hufflepuff. Candles floated in the air, and the ceiling appeared to reflect the sky outside.

"It's not the actual sky" a bushy haired girl explained from next to her, "it's just enchanted to look that way" Lyra had guessed as much,

"I'd guessed" she laughed slightly, the girl turned to look at her and smiled slightly.
