chapter twelve

They kept talking, talking about everything and nothing. The topic of family came up, Cedric told her about his parents.

Amos Diggory and Melody Diggory.

Apparently his father thought the world of him and had incredibly high expectations for what he should achieve. His mother was supposedly one of the nicest people in the world, she was also incredibly intelligent and loved music.

He didn't have any siblings but had lots of cousins.

But before they reached the topic of his cousins, they reached the cave. Cedric sat down and indicted for her to sit next to him, which she did. His arm wrapped around her shoulders and her head involuntarily rested on his own shoulder.

The conversation continued.

Annabelle was his oldest cousin, she was currently twenty eight. She'd been in Gryffindor and had excelled at charms, she worked at the Ministry now.

Curtis was the next oldest, he was twenty five and had been in Ravenclaw. He was now a curse breaker at Gringotts.

Jake was next, he was twenty two. He'd been a Slytherin and now worked in the Ministry but he was trying to become a Quidditch player.

Katherine was next she was nineteen and had been a Hufflepuff, like Cedric, she was working in a shop in Diagon Alley.

Next it was Cedric.

After him, there was the twins. Maisie and Lily. Eight years old. They were both excited to start Hogwarts.

Then Eddie, he was six years old.

And finally Rosie, age four.

Each of the children belonged to his aunts and uncles.

Mary and George were the parents of Annabelle and Jake. Mary was the elder sister of Amos.

Ariel and Samantha were the parents of Curtis and Katherine. Samantha was the other sister of Amos.

Jasper and Eloise were the parents of Maisie and Lily. Jasper was Amos's younger brother.

Poppy and Vincent were the parents of Eddie and Rosie. Poppy was the younger sister of Melody.

"What about your family?" He asked, his arm still wrapped around her, her eyes widened slightly and an uncomfortable shiver ran down her spine.

"Oh uh..." she started, not answering, Cedric's face fell slightly,

"Oh I'm sorry.... You don't have to..." he rubbed her arm softly, gently, comfortingly.

"No... I have my Aunt Cissa and Uncle Lucius" she told him, he was listening intently, she could tell from the way his eyes remained locked onto her. "And Draco is my cousin, he's an arse but you know..." Cedric chuckled slightly at her words, "I like spending Christmas with my Aunt Andie and Uncle Ted...." He nodded again, "and my cousin Dora...."

"Dora? As in Tonks?" He questioned, Lyra nodded, "you're related to Tonks?"

"Yeah" Cedric looked shocked at this revelation, "why's that so shocking?" She laughed slightly,

"You know she rejected me from the Hufflepuff Quidditch team?" He chuckled slightly and Lyra found a laugh escaping her lips, "said I'd be good one day..."

"And you're amazing now...." Cedric flushed at her compliment, moving his eyes away from hers for a moment.

"Thank you love...." She rested her head on his shoulder once again, "who else is in your family?"

"Umm my ghost uncle?" Cedric stared at her confused, eyes wide, he didn't seem to believe her words.

"Ghost... uncle?" He questioned, he clearly thought she was lying or didn't know what she was saying.
