you make me feel

Thomas was lonely.

But not in a I-need-a-friend kind of way. No, for that he had Minho.

He was lonely in terms of romance. He wanted someone to love him. He wanted a person by his side to whom he could sell and open his heart. He wanted to cuddle, kiss and go on several dates.

Minho just waved his hand at that, and said Thomas was just horny and that he would get over this phase eventually.

But the brunette knew it wasn't that. He would know if he was "just horny", right?

If he was "just horny", he'd just want some sex, which isn't hard to get if you have a best friend who goes to a bar at least three times a week.

No... He wanted something more.

Of course, he tried to get a person who would give him the "something more" thing.

And he actually somehow got a few dates - with guys and girls since he was bisexual - with Minho's help, of course. The problem was that he always just screwed up.

Last time he was on a date with this guy named Aris. And it turned out pretty well. The first date went without a hitch. The problem arose on the second date when Aris found out that his birth date, by some strange unfortunate coincidence, was the same as the birth date of Aris' ex. That's why he stopped seeing Thomas.

Thomas personally thought it was bullshit. He didn't choose his date of birth, did he? He didn't even know that Rachel!

But who cares. He already moved on from Aris.

Soon he also gave up.

He really thought this was the end. He will die alone. He failed to find the right one, it happens.

That's what he thought until something... unusual happened.

Technology has visibly upgraded in a very fast time. Thomas' aunt, Ava Paige, got him a personal robot - even though Thomas had told her a hundred times it wasn't necessary - to tidy up his 'messy apartment' and 'watch over him' while Ava was out of the country on business.

First of all, his apartment was perfectly tidy and he didn't need a babysitter. He was 17 for gods sake!

But his aunt stood her ground.

And the very next week, the robot was delivered to his house. It wasn't in a box or anything. It just knocked on the door.

At first Thomas thought he was going to meet a small tin robot on wheels, like some weird version of the Wall-e, but when he opened the door... Well Minho would make fun of his stupid shocked face till the he dies.

"Robot" didn't look like a robot at all. He looked like a human; of flesh and blood. He looked like a boy his age, with a babyface, blond hair and a slim build, and brown eyes.

Thomas was already ready to say that the boy had come to the wrong address. He wanted to believe that it was impossible for a robot to look so similar to a human. But there was this little detail about the boy which betrayed that he couldn't be human.

It was the look in his eyes. It was without any feelings or emotions. But he wasn't cold or anything. It was ... Empty. Void. There was nothing to indicate the boy in front of him had any feelings for anyone.

The guy steps forward without saying anything. Thomas reflexively moves away from the door to let him in. He stared after him, too confused to do anything.

Then he sees his aunt coming towards him. She was dressed all in white.

"Hi, Thomas. How are you doing?" She greets him and walks in, hanging her white coat on the hanger. "Don't worry, I'm not going to be here for long. I just want to chat a bit before i go."
