Does the art look like Annabeth?

Today was going to be interesting. Very interesting. How could I tell? It started with my best friend sitting on the tree next to my window at 6:00 am screaming "Chicken wings!!" at the top of her lungs with her step brother, Leo.

Who was my extravagant, strange, childish best friend? Piper Mclean, daughter of Tristian Mclean and Aphrodite. Tristian Mclean was a famous actor, and Aphrodite was the owner of the biggest make up/clothes/accessories company in the world. Leo was the son of Esperanza Valdez and Hephaestus. Esperanza worked in a workshop, and Hephaestus owned the biggest industry of inventions and mechanics in the universe.

My parents are much more boring. My dad is an old history professor and my mom is Athena. She's a major strategist in the military and she fights alongside her officers, she also writes informational books and articles. I live with my step mom and my two step brothers, my dad's never home, always to busy and my mother and him split up soon after having me. My step mom isn't evil,  she's just not nice or kind at all. Okay, maybe she is evil. Doesn't really matter, I have school and work and friends as an excuse not to see her. My step brothers were annoying and constantly spoiled, treated like angels. If they're angels, I'm the Easter bunny. Not gonna happen.

What was I saying before? Oh, right. Chicken wings. Anyways, I shot awake in my bed, my curly blonde hair frizzing out in tangles like a clown wig. My eyes skirted around the room, taking in the scenery. Piper and Leo were grinning like crazy, waving excitably. They were sitting on a high tree branch outside my window, like that was a normal thing to do.

Piper's chocolate brown hair was in two braids, feathers woven in at the ends. Her eyes danced excitedly, never fully taking on one color, always shifting like the northern lights. She was wearing a tattered, pink hello kitty t-shirt and old vintage jeans. She had her snow boarding wrapped around her waist and her red high tops were faded and splotchy. The early morning light danced across her gorgeous tan skin like mini spot lights.

Leo's dark hair was messier than usual, most likely bed head. His eyes twinkled with joy, like a candy hyper child's. His slacks were held up by his tool belt, his white collarless shirt was smudged with oil and car grease, like he'd been working as a mechanic earlier that morning. His grin was devious and childlike.  He looked like a mischievous, Latino, candy hyper elf.

"Annie!! Open your window!! It's all misty and cold out here!" Piper said, laughing.

Leo through his hands in the air out of exasperation and gestured wildly to her jacket. He said something that sounded like, 'just out your jacket on knifes!' but it was muffled by the window. I assumed he said 'Put' not 'out' and 'Pipes' not 'knifes'. It would be concerning if he was calling her knifes. Piper rolled her eyes, still grinning.

I groggily sat up in my bed, running a hand through my unruly hair. I tugged on my tight grey tank top so it covered my stomach. My blue cloth shorts were short but not too bad. I through legs off the side of my bed, my bare feet touched the ice cold wood floor of my bedroom. I rubbed my eyes with my palms lazily. I blinked the sleep out of my eyes and stood slowly. I pulled my hair into a pony tail as I walked slowly and sluggishly to the window. I unlocked it and let them in. The two crawled into my room, radiating a hyper, child on a sugar crash, sort of energy. Uh oh.

I raised an eyebrow at the two as they flopped onto my bed, I didn't mind because it was already messy from me sleeping in it. The light grew comforter was in a wrinkly pile in a darker corner of the bed. My dark grey sheets were messed up and my pillow was on the floor.

"Well...?" I prompted, gesturing vaguely to my open window and the two as they made faces at each other.

Leo and Piper looked up at her and grinned, like they had just remembered something amusing. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes again, it was always something with these two. Piper gestured for Leo to explain at the same time he gestured for her to explain. They both shook their heads and pointed to the other. Seriously?
