"How could you be so reckless with someone's heart?"- Reckless by Madison Beer. (perfect quote for this chapter.)

Alecto buried their face in his wing, no longer trying to viciously murder them. Everyone's eyes scattered frantically looking around trying to find the voice. They're eyes laid on Medusa. She was a scary-looking woman with bright red lips, and her eyes were covered by a pure white hat.

All of them snapped their heads down as fast as possible, the risk of dying was increasing every second on the quest. They were trapped. Soph looked at Percy making sure the young boy was also looking away.

"If you have something to resolve, why not come inside and I'll help?" Medusa asked them. "Alecto will you be joining us?" She questioned taunting the monster.

"I don't think you would. She won't bother you as long as you're with me. But it isn't as though she'll leave either, not if it means reporting that she failed to retrieve the son of Poseidon." Medusa continued facing the young boy.

"How did you-?" Percy stuttered.

"A forbidden child had been claimed. How long did you think that secret would be kept?" Medusa questioned. Percy didn't even know that it was meant as a secret.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, son of Poseidon. I'm Medusa." She continued. Annabeth interrupted trying to warn Percy.

"Percy don't. She's a monster."

"We all choose who we make our monster, but right now that one wants to tear you limb from limb..and I'm offering you lunch. The choice is yours." Medusa offered, walking back into her building.

"I think we can trust her," Percy said cautiously, knowing he was going to get a bad response.

"What?".

"Dude."

"Are you joking, this is serious Perce."

"I can't explain it, I just-" Percy started "My mom used to tell me her story, and the point was always that she isn't what people think. I'm trusting my mom. I'm going in. You guys do whatever you want."

Soph was debating and unsure as she heard Percy's footsteps receding into the building. She knew it wasn't safe but staying out here with Alecto wasn't any safer. Percy already entered the building. What if Percy didn't come out? The past few weeks at camp were the best she's ever had because of Percy. She couldn't let herself let him die in there, especially if she could do something. She took a deep breath and started inside the abandoned building.

As she walked in the smell of delicious food hit her immediately and she remembered how she got herself in the situation in the first place.

"You must be hungry. I left snacks on the table while I get something proper going," Medusa spoke from the kitchen.

Her voice caused Soph to jump a little in fear. Soph wasn't a very trusting person and with Medusa, she wouldn't trust her if her life depended on it.

Grover and Annabeth walked in around then and she saw Grover drool just a little bit from the food on the table.

"You think it's safe to eat?" Percy whispered to them, holding a tasty-looking snack in his hand.

"Percy, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm really hungry and I'm ready to take that chance," Grover responded sincerely.

"Thanks for coming guys." Percy thanked them, but everything was still a little awkward from the argument.
