Chapter 21~Hidden Messages

~Next Day~

No One's P.O.V

"I can't believe today is the last day!" Calum exclaims.

"Me too," Raini nods. "I'm surprised I even passed," she chuckles.

"I'm just glad I finally have the guy I've been looking for." Laura smiles up brightly at Ross.

He couldn't help but blush.

"Laura, you and I both know I wasn't the guy you were looking for," he flings his arm over her shoulders.

"Huh," she puts a finger on her lip. "You're right," she teases.

"Ha-ha. Very funny," he rubs her upper arm.

"Ugh, can you two stop being cute. It's going to make me barf," Rydel suddenly joins the conversation.

"Where did you come from? You don't go to our school," Ross gestures to all of us.

"I know but, I was with Ellington to go to the store and it's near here so I thought 'why not surprise them?'" Rydel explains.

"You were with Ellington?" Laura teases, for the second time today.

"Yes..." Rydel looks down turning a bright red.

"You haven't told him you like him yet?" Ross asks with some slight annoyance in his voice.

Rydel was speechless. You could tell she wanted to say a snarky comeback but noting was happening.

"Shouldn't you be making out with Maia by now?" Rydel snaps, crossing her arms.

They all stop in their tracks. Raini and Calum were obviously in an awkward position, since Ross and Laura were now... Well.... A thing?

"You know I like Laura," Ross gestures to Laura. "Why would you say that?" You could feel how tense it was in the deafening hallway.

"Wait," says a bystander joining the conversation. "You're dating Laura?" The guy points to her.

"Uhhh..." Ross replies. Then Dimitri joins the conversation. "Well... I was going to say this on the announcements but since they canceled it for the last day of school, I'll just say it now," Dimitri claps his hands together only once.

Everyone groans.

"To everyone that didn't go to Prom. Which isn't that many of you." Dimitri signals everyone listening.

"Here we go." Raini rolls her eyes in impatience.

Everyone knew Dimitri, so everyone knew he talked too much.

"Ross Lynch and Laura Marano are now dating," he smacks his hands together, like he was giving news.

'Duh's and 'no shit's were spread throughout the hall.

By now Ross and Laura were blushing madly.

But some people did look slightly surprised.

Including Ross and Laura...

They haven't REALLY made it official yet....

While Dimitri goes on and on about the two's 'love story', that he surprising knows all about, Ross and the gang slip out of the crowd, who were somewhat listening...

"Well that was..." Raini trails not knowing what to really say.

"Yeah," Calum sighs.

With everyone still being in an awkward position. Ross gives Rydel one last look before leaving her alone.
