Chapter 7-Party invite

~Laura

I wake up to my mom yelling my name. I put my glasses on really quick and jog down the stairs.

"Yeah mom." I scratch the back of my head sleepily.

"Your boyfriend is here." She smiles

I stop in my tracks.

Last time I checked I was single.

"I don't have a boyfriend..." My eyes widened.

Ross now walking into the kitchen.

"Yeah, Mrs. Marano we are just friends." He tells her.

"Oh, alright. Well I'll just leave you two alone then." She walks out of the kitchen winking at me...

"So how long have you been here." I ask getting some cereal.

"An hour." He scratches the back of his head.

I turn and look at him. "What time is it?" I ask. "8 o'clock." He responds. "Why did you come here so early?" I question.

"My sister was wondering if you wanted to go to the beach with us." He replies.

"Just your sister?" I smirk.

"Actually both of us. Plus my family wants to meet you." He smiles shyly.

I drop my cereal... "Y-you want me to meet your family?" I say confused.

"To soon?" He fiddles with his fingers looking at me.

"Um, no. It's just I didn't think..." I sigh. "Never mind. I would love to meet your family." I smile.

He returns the smile.

"Hey so what is a cheerleader's favourite cereal?" I ask.

"I don't know. What is it?"

"Cheerios." I chuckle.

"Just go get your suit." He playfully pushes me.

"Right. Be right back."

~No One

Laura gets her swimsuit and Ross drives them to his house.

When they get inside the whole family mobs them. "Ross! Ryland just-" Ellington looks at Laura. "Who are you?" He says.

"Guys this is Laura." Ross puts his arm around her while she waves.

"Is she single?" Rocky asks Ross.

Ross might've gotten a little red when he asked that. Before he could answer Riker says

"Obviously not, Ross is dating her!" He points to Ross' arm around Laura.

"What?!" Ross takes his arm off her shoulder.

"We aren't dating." Laura points to her and Ross.

"Okay don't need to be so defensive." Ryland says.

"Come on Laura." Rydel grabs Laura's wrist pulling her upstairs.

"Everyone just get ready for the beach." Ross says sighing and heading upstairs behind Ryder and Laura.

"Um, doesn't this seem a little risky?" Laura asks me.

"Define risky." I chuckle.

"I feel exposed." She says.

"Why? Because you're wearing a yellow bikini?" I laugh slightly.

"Yes!" She widens her eyes.
