We made it back up, looking around at what was happening. Two people on stage, who we presumed were the hosts, taking turns talking to the crowd that stood below them. Then that said crowd cheered as the one and only Gabriel the Warrior stepped out onto the stage. My eyes went wide from surprise. He was really there. I turned my head back to face my friends. "Everybody okay?" Jesse asked us all. "Uh...guys...where's Lukas?" Olivia asked nobody in particular. "I thought he was right behind me." Jesse admitted. "Well, if he's not here, then the only place he could be is–" Axel said before getting cut off by Jesse. "He's still down there!" "Ivor's got an iron golem and all the ingredients to build a Wither down there. If he were to unleash it in this crowd of people...We have to act fast." Petra demanded. "It just so happens that the greatest warrior of all time is in the building. We should get Gabriel for–" Is what Olivia said before I cut her off. "I'm going down there to get him myself." Everyone shut up and looked at me. "Y/N– no" Jesse said to me. I shook my head no. "No Jesse. He saved me earlier, so it's my turn to save him. Get Gabriel while I do this." I said with determination. The group nodded and sprinted off into the crowd. I ran over to the door once again. I inhaled and mumbled to myself before pushing it open and taking the same steps back down. I got to the bottom of the stairs, and began tiptoeing around. I began calling for him. "Lukas, can you hear me? ...Even though I'm whispering." I asked. Suddenly, a chest to my left opened up slightly, a face with blue eyes peered out at me. "Y/N? Is that you whispering super loudly?" Lukas whispered back at me. "Lukas, over here." The blonde quickly gasps and closes the chest once more. As he did so, I could feel a presence behind me. I turned my head to see the Iron Golem from before. It swung its big, metal arms at me. I quickly dodged it. Lukas peeked out again, saying 'hey' to distract the beast. It turned its head toward him, giving me the chance to escape. I ran from it and hid on another part of the bookshelf maze. "You okay?" I asked Lukas. "Eh, I've been worse." "Well, I can't say this is the BEST spot I've ever been in. Any bright ideas?" "Just give me a second, I'll figure something out." I told him, not really having a plan. There was a potion in a glass bottle sitting on the shelf next to me. Then the plan that wasn't there before, quickly appeared in my head. I grabbed the potion, cocking my arm back. I threw the blue substance at the creature. It got agitated and wiggled around. "Now Lukas! Run!" The golem threw its arm at us, dodging it, we ran. "Thanks for coming for me. I didn't think anyone was going to..." Lukas admitted. "You helped me earlier, it was my turn to help you." I said smiling, although Lukas couldn't tell because we were too busy focusing on running. We got to the surface once more, looking around for the rest of the group. "Where are the others?" Lukas asked me. We spotted them, attempting to talk to Gabriel. "Dude, I dunno how can I be any clearer! Weird guy! Doing weird stuff! Freaky with a side of strange! Why won't you listen to me? What do you want me to do? Tell you charades-style?" Axel spat out at him. "I promise you, that is the last thing I want you to do." Gabriel said in response. "Four words; six syllables; sounds like...'Schmonster in the schmasement'." Gabriel had enough with Axel's shenanigans. "Next." He called out. Lukas and I walked over to the rest of the group. Then out of nowhere, someone among the crowd asked a question. "I have a question for you." Gabriel, giving an annoyed look to the direction the voice came from. "Excuse me, Sir– You'll have to wait your turn!" "Just tell me first: Do you really believe anyone can be great?" "With enough hard work– yes!" "Was that where I went wrong? I simply didn't WORK hard enough" As the mysterious voice spoke, its owner walked out of the crowd, revealing itself to be Ivor. Gabriel's eyes widened. "Ivor? Is that really you? How dare you interrupt like this!" "That's the same guy who attacked us in the basement!" Jesse called out. Gabriel sighed, speaking. "I wish I could say I was surprised." The warrior admitted. Ivor grinned menacingly. "If it's a surprise you want, then you're in for a treat." Ivor said as he made his way to the stage. "Why don't you tell them the real story, Gabriel?" The dark toned man gave a look of distress. "I see time has made you bitter." "And it's made YOU an even bigger fool. Now, these people were promised greatness– and I'm ready to deliver. I'm sorry this is how they had to learn the truth..." Ivor said as he pulled a lever, revealing the T-shaped build with the Soul Sand and Command Block. It already had two of the Wither skulls on opposing sides. "Gabriel, you've gotta stop him!" Jesse shouted. "Nothing built can last forever, Gabriel." "Ivor, no!" Ivor placed the last skull in the middle, creating the Wither. It rose up for a moment, almost as if it was breathing in air. The three heads, which were once tipped up, are now facing straight. It let out what almost sounded like a whisper. Ivor evilly smiled. My eyes went wide, I almost froze in place. "Creature, attack!" Ivor shouts at it. It began to shoot replicas of its three heads at us. It almost hit Jesse and I, before we quickly jumped out of the way. It fired another skull, aiming for Jesse. He dodged it again. "Everyone stay calm! This foul beast is no match for me!" Gabriel says to the now panicking crowd. Ivor points over to Gabriel, speaking to the Wither. "Creature– Attack." He says once more. The warrior jumps at the Wither, holding up his diamond sword. He tries to hit it but it has no effect. Landing, he spoke. "Ivor, what have you done?" "Gabriel!" Jesse called out. "No! Stay away! It's after me, not you!" He called back. The creature destroys a wall, leaving a big, open hole. "Look at him! The mighty Gabriel! Looks like true greatness is out of his reach. He may not be able to defeat this creature– but I can! Creature– retreat!" Except, the creature didn't retreat. Ivor stared for a moment. "Ahem. Creature– retreat! Retreat, I said. Retreat!!" He called out once more. But again, the Wither did not listen. "The idiots' lost control of it!" I shouted aloud. "No need to be alarmed, my friends." Ivor paused. "I have an elixir that will destroy this creature." He pulls out a pink-toned potion. I hear Axel say 'uh oh' from beside me. Ivor threw the potion, however, it had no effect on the Wither. To Ivor's surprise, he spoke. "Uh, what? Impossible! It should have worked– I took such care!" "The potion– Axel! You've got to throw the real potion!" Olivia said. "But– finders, keepers." Axel complained "You thieves! You're ruining everything!" "Axel, come on!" Jesse took the potion from Axel's grip, throwing it. Just as the bottle was flying through the air, the Wither barricaded the Command Block within itself. The potion hit the outer layer of its skin, nothing happening. "It's protecting itself! Without the Command Block exposed...the potion is useless! It wasn't supposed to happen like this." Ivor spat out as he turned and backed out, running away. "Ivor, you coward! Come back here!" Gabriel called to him. Suddenly, he got caught up in a tractor beam, admitted from the wither. I quickly noticed this, and I ran over to help him. I grabbed him by the arm and pulled him out. "Thank you. Ivor was right about one thing– I can't defeat that thing. Not on my own. Everyone's running away...except for you. Will you help me? I must get to the temple– but what needs to happen next, I can't do alone. "Of course! Jesse says. "Follow me!" Gabriel says as we make our way out of the now destroyed building. The Wither was sucking in the surrounding blocks, attaching them to itself to grow. What was once a normal sized Wither, was now the size of the building it was spawned in. It bursted through the roof of it, revealing its long, tentacle-like arms. I was farther in front of Jesse, but I could hear him behind me. He was yelling for help. I stopped in my tracks and turned to help him. He pulled himself forward on the few blocks he was desperately holding on to. He eventually made it out of the beam's sight, dropping to the ground. I ran over to him to help him back up. "Are you good?" I asked him quickly, before beginning to run again. He nodded in response. Suddenly, the chickens from the chicken machine earlier were just standing there, in the way. I jumped over them with ease, but I don't think Jesse did. From behind me, I heard Jesse. "Damn chickens!" I turned my head and he got back up. We were back to running side by side. We both slowed our pace and moved off to the side. I was looking at the people attempting to run, but one caught my eye. He had blonde hair and a black leather jacket. "Lukas!" I thought to myself. "Lukas!" Jesse screamed, over my thoughts. The blonde quickly noticed us, moving off to the side as well. "Holy crap! Oh man, if I was still in that basement, I–" He began. "Thanks for coming back for me Y/N, I wouldn't be here without you." He finished, sounding sincere. I gave him the best not scared smile I could. "Jesse!" We heard from in front of us. We looked up to see the rest of the group. The three of us ran over and reunited with them. Though, the reunion is short lived due to the now Wither Storm, taking away the roof with its tractor beam. We started running again, not wanting to get stuck inside its purple beams.

~ Third Person POV ~

As the group ran on, they had left Jesse and Petra behind. "Wait– wait! We have to stay together!" Jesse shouted, hoping to get at least one of the group member's attention. Abruptly, he hears Petra from the other side of him. "Jesse! Help me!" The boy quickly swiveled his head around, immediately running to help his friend. As Petra was floating up, he grabbed her hand with a firm grip. Pulling, he reached for a nearby fence post. His grasp of the fence wasn't strong enough, because his hand began slipping away. "I can't hold on!" Jesse said. His feet began to lift from the ground. In a panic, Jesse shouted. "Nooooo!" Floating, Jesse felt a grasp at his ankle. He looked down to see Gabriel. Jesse's panic lessend. Suddenly, the tractor beam pulled away, leaving Gabriel to pull them free. The two fell to the ground and lifted themselves up. The rest of the group comes back, reuniting with the three. "Do we still have everyone?" Jesse asked them. A few nods were the only response he got. "We must set out for my fortress– we'll be better protected there." Gabriel confirms to the rest. Once again, a few nods were the only response. The group quickly continue their escape on their feet.

~ Y/N's POV ~

As we were running, we ran by our build from the competition hours prior. I watched as the purple illuminating beams sucked it up like a vacuum. "Incoming!" Petra abruptly yelled. There was a wither skull, hurling towards us. Quickly, I moved to the side, out of its range as Petra tackles Jesse, saving him. We all ran past the closing gate of the town, making it out. Jesse wasn't as lucky. He just nearly missed it, rolling beneath it. He got back on his feet and continued on, the Wither Storm on our butts. "Stay together everyone! We'll be safe as soon as we get to my temple!" Gabriel yelled aloud to everyone. More pits were laid across the ground, making it slightly harder to escape. In front of us, lies a tree, aflame from the creature. We had no choice but to split up. The left side consisted of Petra, Lukas, Aiden, Maya, and Gill. The other side was Olivia, Axel, Gabriel, and Reuben. Jesse quickly decided that he wanted to go to the left. Probably for Petra and Lukas. Mostly P though. I chose the right side, sticking with everyone I liked. I was not about to go with Aiden and his cheerleaders. We made it around the tree and filed back together. "Hurry! Inside the temple!" Gabriel yelled again. We managed to make it in. Around us, was pure obsidian. I was wowed. "The inner chamber is built entirely of obsidian. We should be untouchable in there." Gabriel said as he flipped a lever, opening the door to the inner chamber. Just then, another purple beam appears from the main entrance, eager to find someone. Moving like a lost stagelight. We screamed and ran into the inner chamber. Standing in front of us was a Nether Portal frame. As we looked at our surroundings, the same tractor beam appeared in the room, with a tentacle from the monster following behind. Gabriel, quickly noticing, draws his sword and gets ready to fight. "Hurry! If you can get through the portal, you'll be safe!" We ran over to the black portal frame. Axel runs through the open middle, of course nothing happening. I facepalmed as Olivia spoke. "We need something to light it!" Hearing this, Jesse pulled out his flint and steel, reading it for the portal. He rubs the two pieces together, sparkling. These sparks ignited the frame, leaving a translucent purple hue where the opening once was. Little purple flakes, almost like snowflakes, sparkled around it as the portal made ominous sounds. "Everyone! Get in! NOW!" Petra yelled to us all.
