Third person POV

Rachel's self-defense training sessions with Brandon had become a regular occurrence in her life.

"Woah! That was a spectacular aim. You hit the bullseye!" Brandon beamed proudly as he watched Rachel shoot the target with precision. His admiration for her was growing every day. Rachel's proficiency in self-defense, fighting, aim, and gun shooting seemed almost supernatural, especially considering the short time she had been training.

Brandon marveled at her abilities, realizing that she possessed qualities that went beyond the ordinary. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. She was not just his girlfriend; she was a force to be reckoned with, a potential leader in the world they navigated.

As they wrapped up their training for the day, Brandon couldn't contain his fascination. "You're a natural at all these mafia antics, Rachel. Self-defense, fighting, shooting – it's like you were born for this."

Rachel smirked, a glint of determination in her eyes. "Maybe I was, Brandon. Maybe it's time to put these skills to good use."

Brandon, ever more enchanted by her, couldn't help but agree. "You'd make a perfect Mafia queen. My queen."

With their training behind them, the couple needed to head out to fetch Sofia from preschool. It was nearly 6:30 pm, and her school was a 20-minute drive away. They quickly changed out of their sweaty training outfits and got into the car.

Arriving at the preschool, Sofia's face lit up with joy upon seeing her mother. Rachel tenderly scooped her up in her arms while Brandon efficiently took care of the necessary signing-out procedures and formalities. Rachel settled Sofia into her baby seat, and they embarked on the journey back home.

When they reached the mansion, the tantalizing aroma of freshly cooked Italian dishes greeted them. Brandon's parents were there, having orchestrated a surprise visit. Jayden and Melissa sat there smirking, knowing their plan had succeeded. His parents embraced Rachel warmly, recognizing her from numerous video calls. It was a moment that touched Rachel deeply, as Brandon's mother filled a void that had existed in her life for years.

Rachel pulled away from the embrace, tears of joy in her eyes. Brandon's parents turned their attention to Sofia, kneeling to her level and adoring her. They knew she was Rachel's daughter, and they welcomed her into the family with open arms. The dinner table was a scene of familial joy, filled with laughter, chatter, and the clinking of cutlery.

Sofia, seated in her highchair, scooped up her porridge independently, feeding herself with a sense of autonomy that Rachel found immensely gratifying. The routine from preschool, encouraging self-help skills, had made an impact. Rachel observed her daughter, pride swelling within her.

The evening continued with a sense of warmth and connection. Conversations flowed, and jokes were exchanged, creating an atmosphere of unity. Sofia's presence brought an undeniable lightness to the room, a testament to the newfound family that had formed.
