We wake up early the next morning so that Jace can go home to get ready for school. "I'll be back to pick you up," he tells me as he leaves. "Okay, see you soon." I come down for breakfast and see my father in the kitchen. "Good morning, Mila. Are you sure you're okay enough to go to school today?" "I may as well get this over with," I reply. "Well I told the school to have their guards up in order to keep the reporters away." "Thanks, dad. I'll get through it." He hugs me and says, "I'm really proud of you. You're tough, just like me." I smile and say, "Well I'm happy to be just like my dad." I see Jace pull into the drive so I say goodbye to my father and head outside to his car. "Are you ready for this," Jace asks. "Not even close, but hell, let's do this." As we pull up to school, I already begin to regret my decision. I can see the guards holding back the paparazzi while all of the students just stare at me. I ignore everyone and walk straight to my locker with Jace. Brandi, Candace, and Sarah walk over to meet us. "I'm so glad you came today," Brandi says. Candace agrees and says, "Don't worry about any of them. They're just jealous that you're getting so much attention." I see Jade and Scott walk in holding hands. I look at my friends and ask, "What did I miss?" "Oh, yeah, that. Apparently they're dating now. I don't know if it's for real or just for show," Sarah says. "Honestly who cares," I say, "they're the last thing on my mind right now. I'm just going to put all of this behind me and focus on my school work. I'm heading to class; see you guys at lunch." Jace and I go and take our seat in class. Other students start to walk in and stare. I look at Jace and he grabs my hand and tells me that it's going to be okay. Class begins and the teacher starts her lecture on our reading assignment that we had last night. Oh shit, after everything that has been going on, I completely forgot about the reading assignment. Hopefully she doesn't call on me to answer any questions. I can see Jade giving me the evil eye every time I look in her direction. I don't understand this chick but whatever. When class ends and I'm getting up to leave, Jade intentionally bumps into me and makes me drop all of my books. "Really, Jade? Was that necessary," I ask her. "Well you were in my way," she says. "Come on. We all know that was on purpose." "No, I would never." "I've had enough of you being a bitch, Jade,"  I say as I knock her books out of her hands. She then pushes me so I push her back. Jace and Matthew get in between us and Jace says, "That is enough." "I've been done. I don't know what her problem is," I say. "Stop acting so innocent, Mila. We all know you're not," she spits at me. I want to punch her so bad, but I don't. I pick up my books and walk away. Jace follows and asks me if I'm okay. "I'm fine, Jace. She is the problem. She will always be the problem. But yes, I am fine." I get my books for my next class and walk away. I'm so over this Jade bullshit. She really needs to leave me alone and worry about herself. During lunch, I go find Jace, Candace, Brandi, and Sarah and we all go sit at our usual lunch table. Candace is trying to make plans for something fun to do tonight. "I don't think you want to go anywhere with me, with the paparazzi at my heels," I tell them. "So why don't we just do something at your house? Order pizza, play games, go swimming in the pool," Brandi suggests. "A pool party sounds like a great idea. Let me just text my dad to make sure it's okay." I get an instant reply saying a pool party would be just fine with him. "Pool party it is," I say, "we can invite Matthew, John, and Noah. I'll order the pizza so just text me what kind you want." They all agree to be at my house at 5:00. When lunch ends, I walk into my next class and of course everyone is still staring. I do my best to ignore it for the remainder of the day until the final bell rings. I find Jace and I tell him that I'll call Micheal to take me home so he could go home to grab his stuff and meet me back at my house. When I get home, I begin getting things ready for tonight. I order the pizza and open up the pool then put on my favorite swimsuit. My friends start to show up just as the 12 pizzas are being delivered. I round up everyone and we meet in the pool room. I love that we have a heated indoor pool. We all jump in really have a great time. Jade walks in and says, "A pool party at my house and I wasn't invited?" "That was intentional," I tell her. "Well since it's my house, I think I'll just invite myself. I'll invite Scott too; it's only fair." I shake my head in disbelief and say, "Whatever, Jade. I don't care anymore. Have some pizza, there's plenty." I finish eating a slice and Jace picks me up and jumps in the pool with me. We swim around together and kiss for a bit. "Lord get a room," Candace says from behind me. "Shut up. It's not like you don't kiss in public," I joke with her. I was having so much fun that I didn't even notice when Scott walked in. He jumps into thd pool and him and Jade start kissing. I ignore them and continue swimming with Jace. I'm not going to let Jade and Scott ruin my time with my friends and my boyfriend. We all go and sit at the other end of the pool and talk for a while as Jade and Scott sit on the other side and stare at us. Eventually they dry off and walk out. We laugh and get back into the pool. We play a few games of chicken; just laughing and splashing. After a while goes by, we decide to dry off and go into the living room to play Wii. Jace pulls out Rock Band. Let's just say that he is a master at this game. I mean nobody could beat him. I called him annoying and we start laughing. He grabs me and pins me down to tickle me. Candace and Brandi team up to pull him off and then Noah and John get involved. Sarah and Matthew start their own tickle war. The whole things lasts about 30 minutes; atleast until we were all out of breath. Before we know it, it's already 10:00. Everyone decides it's time to go home since we have school in the morning. Jace stays behind and asks, "So, am I staying the night?" "Do you want to stay the night," I ask. "Well, I packed my school clothes for tomorrow.." he says shyly. I smile and say "Well, it looks like you're staying the night then." We head upstairs and get ready for bed. I put on a t-shirt and a pair of little shorts. Jace comes out of the bathroom with just pajama bottoms on and no shirt. Damn this boy looks good with no shirt on. We both get into bed and he just holds me. I know we aren't going to have sex because I can get that vibe off of him. He just wants to lay here and hold me until we fall asleep, so that's what we do. We wake up the next morning to my alarm going off. I turn over to look at him and say good morning. He says good morning back and tries to kiss me. "No, don't kiss me yet! I haven't brushed my teeth!" "I don't care. I will kiss you any time." I giggle and say, "Well isn't  that the sweetest thing ever." We get ready for school and head downstairs. My father, Tracy, and Jade are downstairs already. "Alright," my father starts, "new rule. If Jace wants to stay the night, he will sleep in the guest room." "I'm sorry, sir," Jace says. "I'm sorry, dad. I just want you to know that nothing happened," I tell him. "Well, thank you for letting me know that. Still, next time, guest room." "Okay," I say, "we are going to be late so we should get going." I tell everyone goodbye and we head to school where there was still paparazzi out front. We walk into school and everyone seems a little less interested in me. Maybe this will all blow over soon. The school day actually goes by pretty quick; no drama, just a good day. I meet Jace outside and before I can even make it to the car, paparazzi surrounds me asking me questions. I keep walking and repeating "no comment" like my father told me to do. I reach Jace's car and slam the door on them. Jace asks if I'm okay and apologizes for not being there. "I thought things had blown over a bit," he says. "I'm okay. I knew this was going to eventually happen. Hopefully in a few weeks it will die down even more. Something else will happen and they'll forget all about me." "You're right," he says. Jace takes my hand and says, "So, you know, Spring Formal is coming up." "I know," I say. "Do you have a date?" "Yes, actually I do." "You do? With who?" "With you, silly!" "But I didn't even ask you yet." "Yeah, but I knew you were going to." "Oh you did huh?" "Well I would hope so!" "Yes," he laughed, "I was going to ask you." "Brandi, Candace, and Sarah have been talking about it and we're thinking about renting a Hummer Limo together." "Well that sounds like a good plan. I want to color coordinate though so let me know what color your dress will be." "Of course! We're supposed to go dress shopping this weekend." "Good, I'll get my tux this weekend as well." The whole week actually flies by and the weekend is here. The girls and I go dress shopping for Formal. Candace gets a hot pink, long, strapless dress and Brandi gets a silky, black, strapless dress with a slit going up the leg. Sarah gets a light blue, short, lacey dress. I get a spaghetti strap, silver, mermaid-style, sequined dress with a high leg slit. It's absolutely gorgeous. I let Jace know so he could get a silver tie to match. Now that we're all shopped for, I'm even more excited for the Formal. I have a feeling it's going to be to an amazing night.
