I wake up the next morning not wanting to get out of bed. Today is the day that the world will find out all of my secrets. I begin to get so nervous that I feel like throwing up. I can't believe that I'm about to give an interview about my entire life. I push myself out of bed and attempt to find the most respectful outfit I can muster. I pull on a pair of black slacks with a button up blouse and some black flats. I think this will work. I join my father and Tracy downstairs to eat breakfast. "I know you're nervous. You don't have to do this if you don't want to," my father says. "No, I need to do this. You're my dad; I love you and I have to do this for you." He plants a kiss on my head and says, "Thank you, sweetheart. That really means a lot to me." The doorbell rings and I open the door to see Jace. "I'm so happy to see you," I tell him as I wrap my arms around him for a hug. "I told you I would be here for you," he says. Jace walks back with me to the kitchen and my parents welcome him. My father asks, "Will you be staying for the interview, Jace?" "Yes sir, I am." "Good. She will need you here for this." I'm really starting to get nervous as I wait here, knowing I'm possibly about to end my future. I hear the doorbell ring again and I just know it's her. My father goes to open the door. He welcomes the journalist into our home and invites us all to sit in the living room. I sit on the couch and Jace sits next to me and takes my hand. The woman pulls out her notepad and her tape recorder and asks if we are ready. "Ready as I'll ever be," I reply. She gives an encouraging smile and hits the "record" button. "Hello, my name is Megan Holden. I will be doing your interview today." "It's nice to meet you," I tell her. She begins asking me questions and I tell her about everything that has happened in my past; revealing all of the dark secrets. The interview lasts for about two hours. It took alot out of me. It didn't make me feel any better after telling her my truth. After she leaves, I feel tears rolling down my face. Jace pulls me close and just holds me. "I can't believe that my entire past is about to be broadcasted to the world." "Don't worry, it's going to be okay. You have friends and family that are going to stay by your side no matter what. Don't worry about what the world thinks." I kiss him softly and head upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes. Jace spends the day with me. We order food and watch TV. Suddenly, my father comes in and tells us to turn on the news. I really don't want to watch this, but I have to. The journalist comes on the screen and says that she has an exclusive interview from me and that she will publish it tonight. "Here's a sneak peak," she says. She plays the tape recorder and I can hear myself. I don't think I ever realized just how bad everything was until I hear it come from my mouth. Before we know it, paparazzi surrounds the front of the house. "Seriously? How am I ever going to leave the house again with all of them out there," I ask. Jace says, "Well, they can't stay out there forever. They have to go home at some point right?" "I hope so, unless they plan on staying the night." We laugh a little until reality really sets in, "Wow. This is real. This is really real. I told the whole world about what a terrible person I am." "Mila, you have to stop thinking of yourself as a terrible person. You did things in your past that you had to do to survive and there is nothing wrong with that. You are an amazing person and you're so inspirational. I want you to always remember that; I adore you, Mila." "I'm so happy to have you by my side through all of this because I don't know if I could do this without you." "You can Mila, you can do anything. You're a beautiful, strong woman. You've never needed anyone to take care of you because you're capable of taking care of yourself, but you don't have to do it alone anymore. I will never leave your side." Jace kisses me sweetly and then says, "Why don't we sneak out the back door and I take you somewhere special?" "That sounds risky, but let's do it," I tell him. I throw on my black hoodie to go along with my black yoga pants and my black boots. Jace looks at me up and down and says, "Umm is this a secret mission I don't know about?" I laugh and say, "No, I just don't want to be recognized." "Well you got the look going, so let's go." We go through the back garage and take the SUV that has blacked out windows. We were able to get to the back roads without alerting the paparazzi. "Now where are we going," I ask Jace. "It's a surprise." "You know I hate surprises!" "You'll love this one." We drive for what feels like for hours until we finally pull over to the side of the road. Jace gets out and opens the door for me. I eye him suspiciously. He smiles and says, "Come on." He grabs my hand and leads me through a path in the woods. We reach a beautiful stream; the water is clear blue and it's surrounded by trees and so many flowers. "How did you find this place," I ask. "I found it years ago. I come out here to think. You're the first person I've ever brought here." "This is amazing." "The most amazing thing is nobody knows where we are and nobody can find us. We're completely alone." We sit down next to the water and enjoy the fresh air and the beauty around us. It's so peaceful. I look at him and say, "This is exactly what I needed. You know exactly what to do when I need an escape; you're the only one that can give that to me." He wraps his arms around me and says, "Mila, there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you. You mean everything to me." I look deep into his blue eyes and say, Jace, I love you." He kisses me so softly and says, "I love you too." He holds me close and sighs contently. "You beat me to it. I've been waiting to tell you that, but I was waiting for the right time. I'm actually glad you said it first because I didn't know if you felt the same way." "Of course I feel the same way, Jace! You've been by my side since day one. You've always looked past everything and you believe in me. You've been nothing but amazing to me and after everything that has happened you still stick by my side with no hesitation. How could I not fall in love with you?" He smiles and says "Since I met you, you've made me see life differently. You've made me want to be a better person. I can't imagine my life without you in it anymore. I'm not the type of person that commits to anything but since I met you I have completely committed myself to you. It scares me, but in a good way. You're the love of my life and I never want to not have you in my life. I love you so much, Mila Anderson." "I love you, Jace Henderson." He kisses me and I tell him, "The best part of my day is kissing you." "The best part of my day is just seeing you." "For once I feel safe in my life because of you. You're my best friend." We sit there for a while while Jace holds me in his arms. I break the silence and say, "It feels great to just have a moment with no chaos or drama. Just me and you." We spend the rest of the evening there until the sun goes down, then we get in the car and head back to my house. We dodge the paparazzi and enter through the way that we left. Jace orders us Chinese food and I pick a good movie to watch. "This has honestly been the best day I've had in a long time, Jace. Thank you," I tell him as we sit down. "Anything for you, Mila. I will do anything for you so get used to it." "I'll try but I don't think it'll be too hard." We lay down on the couch and watch movies until we fell asleep
