When Henri and James made it back to the print shop, Sarah rushed to the door.
"Henri! James! Where have you both been?! You should have been here a hour ago. We need to have an interview with General Washington!"
Sarah stopped and looked at Henri's bloody bandaged leg. Her eyes widen.
"Henri, what happened to your leg?!"
She rushed over to examine his leg, face full of frantic worry.
"What have you been doing? This looks bad!"
Henri didn't mind the wound at all. He began to eagerly chat, without pausing."Sarah, you're not gonna believe who I've just meet. Her name's Jolene, and she saved me from this wild pig near the river"-
Sarah cut Henri off.
"You got attacked by a wild pig there?! Henri, you know that place can be dangerous, you've could have gotten killed. And who is this Jolene girl you've mention?""The most, brave, kind, and beautiful fille I've ever seen. She knows how to fight off a wild pig, and is very skilled at it. She only killed it with a rope, stick, and some rock with a slingshot. She never got even hurt ONCE!"
"That certainly is one of the most far-fetched things I've ever heard from you. You know that little girls can't fight off wild animals with only a stick. That's not usual."
"But she did, on the king of France, I did see her do it! It was amazing, so powerful, so graceful....." Henri smiled with the biggest grin on his face.
Sarah watched him silently swooning over Jolene, and could tell he really admires this girl. Maybe she did had saved him. Other wise Henri's wouldn't be here now."Well then, if that's the case, I would like to thank her for saving you. Who treated your wound?"
"Jolene did it as well! She also lives in a cottage in the woods and has a pet wolf cub named mignon"-
"Hey there, Henri! Glad you're back! You all need to get ready for the interview. Henri, what happened to your leg?" Moses was frantic, and rushed over to Henri."Henri was attacked by a wild pig, but then this girl Jolene saved him," James explained.
"A girl? Well, that sounds new. Never heard of a girl who can fight off a wild pig. Now that would be a site to see. Henri, I think you can take the rest of the day off, since you hurt your leg.""All right, Moses. I have a lot on my mind, anyway.
(That something being Jolene).
"Are you hungry like usual, Henri?", Sarah said.
"Strangely, no," Henri answered.
It seems like he wasn't focused on his appetite as his brain was too busy being filled up by the thought of Jolene. The rest of the day that's all he could think of, Jolene. He never thought so much of a girl before. Sure he has saw and liked many beautiful girls his age, but this one particular one seemed to stand out to him the most, in a good way too.Sure, she may not have been wearing a fancy dress, but her beauty shined through it anyway. Jolene seemed to have a proud, confident, and vivid aurora shining around, and it felt so good being in its warmth. She had this strong sense of bravery with a large hint of spunkiness, and seems to have a lot of energy in her. But most especially, her kindness is what was the most prettiest thing about her. Henri could tell she has tons of it, and would not wait a second to help others in need.
Henri may had only known Jolene since today, but he felt like he's known her his whole life. He couldn't wait to tell Lafayette about her. Henri would be sure that he'd like her. Tomorrow he was going to show Jolene to Lafayette.
Though, Henri couldn't help but noticed that she had a slightly sad expression on her face as they were leaving earlier. What if she was lonely and had no friends to be there for her? And why did she act so touchy about her parents? Where were they at the time? This bugged Henri, but he has to push it to the side for now.Overall, Henri couldn't wait for Tomorrow to come already.
