Two months had passed. Everyday, Henri and Lafayette visited Jolene, some days Sarah and James visited as well. She enjoyed those visits.

Jolene had become great friends with Sarah, as she was well mannered, kind, and knew how to voice her opinion, which was Jolene's most favorite quality about Sarah, as it reminded so much of her late mother. James definitely knew how to speak his opinion, too, but in a slightly more cocky way, but despite this, Joleen consider him as a friend.

Joleen had gotten more and more close to Henri, as he understood her most. She was glad to have a good friend that knows exactly what she's been through, and that comforted her. Jolene also loved that he was very much energetic with an endless amount of energy, and he knew how to have fun. The two would go out and explore the woods, racing each other and climbing to the very top of the trees. They would ride Sport through the fields in speed.

Jolene had to taught Henri how to sling rock and fight with a stick, and sling a rope like a pro. Henri wasn't as good as Jolene of course, but he was getting there.

Jolene has gotten much closer to Lafayette. He seemed sorta like a father figure to her, as he always made sure she safe and alright, and never wanted her to be sad.
Yet Lafayette yearned to take Joleen in as his daughter. He didn't want her to be living alone, without a family to love and care about her. He'd knew Jolene's parents would never allow that, and he'd definitely would never allow that either.
But Lafayette had to let Jolene decide on her own if she wanted to stay, but he'd knew she'd say no, as Jolene's completely confident about taking care of herself. Jolene was surely one of the most mature little girls Lafayette had ever seen, yet he wish to called her his mature little girl one day.

Moses even comes over one time to meet Jolene for the first time, and the two easily get acquainted, as they were both physically and mentally strong people.
Joleen used to feel so alone and sad, but now that she had plenty friends that were there for here everyday of the week, she didn't feel much that way anymore, and she was more than grateful for that.

All the while, though, Henri kept his growing feelings for Jolene inside of him. He wanted so badly to tell her how he felt about her, and hoped that she would like him back. Of course he was afraid that Jolene wouldn't like him the same way he did. But still, Henri dreamed of that moment for as long as he had known Jolene. It didn't seem like he could wait any longer, as the impatience was torturous.
