V in Rwby part 2

chapter 3: Fool or Gonk

It was morning at the beacon, where the colosseum match had begun.

V was sitting next to team Rwby, watching Penny and her teammate effortlessly dispatch their opponents. V marveled at Penny's agility and precision for a robot.

"Johnny, are you seeing this?" V said.

"I did," Johnny said as he appeared. "Arasaka better watch out; they might have some competition with Penny around," Johnny added with a smirk.

V nodded in agreement, seeing that she was more advanced than any other robot they had encountered.

As the match was over, Ruby ran to her, and V followed suit.

"Hey, are you going after her too?" V asked.

"Oh, you know Penny?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, we've met before; she's a force to be reckoned with," V replied, impressed by Penny's skills.

The two then caught up to Penny.

"Penny!" Ruby called out.

"Ruby! V!" Penny said as she lunged and wrapped them both in a tight hug, making them hit the ground hard.

"Oh fuck!" V exclaimed, wincing in pain as they hit the ground.

"Penny, you've got quite the strength!" Ruby laughed, trying to catch her breath.

"Ruby, V, this is my teammate," Penny said.

"Ciel Soleil," she said as she formally bowed.

"Hi! I'm Ru-" Ruby could say.

"Ruby Rose. 15. Hails from Patch. Leader of Team RWBY. Status: Questionable," Ciel said before looking at V. "V. 23. Cybernetic Merc from Night City. Holding a dead rockstar legend in his head. Status: Uncertain."

"interesting..." V thought, intrigued by Ciel's knowledge of their backgrounds.

"Sooo... Penny!" Ruby said. "You two were incredible out there. How do you keep control of all those swords? It's so cool!"

"Penny?" Ciel said as she gestured at her watch. "I believe it is best if we move on to our next location."

"Could we have just a minute to talk?" Penny asked.

Ciel, without a word, nodded and stepped back.

"So is she... your friend or..." Ruby asked.

"Well, in a way. She's like Blake, but if Blake was ordered to spend time with you," Penny explained.

"She's a hired soldier, to be exact," V added. "I can tell she's part of the Atlas military."

"Thank you for making it clear," Penny replied.

"Does she know about... y'know... beep boop bop, does not compute?" Ruby said she was imitating a robot.

"Oh no. General Ironwood doesn't really want anyone to know. There was an incident with a magnet, but I was able to play it off," Penny explained.

"Huh, I don't get that problem with my cyberware," V said.

"But there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about," Penny said before leaning closer. "I want to stay at Beacon."

"Penny, they'll never let you do that," Ruby said.

"I know, but I have a plan," Penny said.

"If you want help, let me know," V said.

"V!" Ruby exclaimed, surprised by V's offer. "Are you serious?"

"It's been precisely one minute, ma'am," Ciel said.
