"I DON'T THINK this is a good plan."
You watched as Drogra exited the larder, sneakily crawling up the stairs and disappearing out the door without so much as a look back or a goodbye; you knew that was the best idea, just in case someone from the guild was watching her.
You waited for the door to completely close before answering the Mandalorian, only glancing at him over your shoulder. You were otherwise preoccupied with making sure your blaster would slip out of its holster with ease, should the need arise.
"Usually I'd ask 'do you trust me,' but given current circumstances," you said, "the obvious answer is no. So I'll just say it's not like we have any other choice."
You turned to him fully.
"Don't mess this up," you growled. "We both know what will happen otherwise."
"Never would have dreamed of it," Mando replied with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. You watched as he crossed his arms, shifting his weight to one side. "I just don't think you going up there alone is wise–"
"Oh, my dearest knight in shining armor, I don't need you, remember?" you taunted. "It's best if I confront this woman alone. Drogra will keep an eye on me. We'll wait until the woman leaves, I'll slink down here, throw those cuffs on, activate the disguise matrix . . . and it'll all be okay."
"Then how do you plan on getting me out of there?" he asked. "I've heard about your guild. Impenetrable, hidden. There could be passages you don't know about, traps you hadn't foreseen–"
"You truly think so little of me . . . ?" you retorted.
"I'm sure you know the answer to that question."
You stared at him for a second, blinking, before frowning.
"They'll deactivate any dangerous security when guiding you through the bottom levels; only lesser traps will be active," you explained. "They won't harm the Grandmaster– no, they wouldn't even risk it. A simple jamming device should do the trick. Have a little faith, Mr. Mandalorian."
"So anyone can break in, is what I'm hearing."
"No, not anyone. The system will only be down for ten seconds. Then everything will fire back up."
"Can you move that fast?"
"I can–or better yet, I have to. We don't have any other choice." A smirk arrived beneath your mask. "Seems like an especially prevalent statement, don't you agree? I'll come back for you–as soon as I know Drogra and the kids are safe."
