STRAPPING THE MANDALORIAN DOWN was no easy task. Even cuffed he was incredibly strong, and he struggled all the way down the elevator, all the way down the hall, and even the very moment he was thrown onto the interrogation table, the wind knocked out of his lungs.
A blinding red light seared his eyes. His visor struggled to filter it, and beneath his helmet his eyes screwed shut, trying to avoid looking directly into it.
The light only died when two shapes came into view. Two men, sneering down at him.
Straps tightened around his wrists, his ankles, his chest, his throat. He writhed and fought, bucking, trying to loosen the leather straps binding him to the table. For a moment he thought the little silver buckles moved, slipping, loosening–
He caught sight of one from the corner of his eye.
It hadn't even budged.
"Your contractor will be very pleased to hear of his capture, Grandmaster. Very pleased indeed."
"(Y/N) has always done good work, sir. She brought the heads of so many rebel soldiers to me, and she killed the usurper running about Kashyyyk a cycle back. She has a knack for killing."
Vimres paused. A silence settled over the room. The only thing Mando could hear was his heart beating in his ears.
"To think she wishes to leave . . . " Roth's voice pierced the quiet. Then, a chuckle. "She'll never leave. She's mine. She's ours. She's bathed in more blood than any of us." Mando knew the ghoulish grandmaster was smiling. He could hear it seeping into every syllable. "Excluding myself, of course. I'd sooner drink her lifeforce myself than let that one go. There's simply . . . something about her, H'darr. Something so . . . intoxicating."
"Ah, yes. (Y/N). A particularly special pet to your little outfit. That's one more thing I wished to discuss with you, Roth."
A sharp crackle, like a sudden current of electricity coursing from exposed wire. The Mandalorian's eyes widened, a trail of sweat crossing his forehead. A streak of blue filled the otherwise crimson room.
"She spent several days with this interloper, didn't she?" H'darr asked. "I'm assuming she spoke to him in length, sapping any information she could."
"I'm led to believe that, yes," answered Vimres. "Him and the asset."
"I see. Hence why this traitor sounded so betrayed; truly a delicious twist of fate. Yet as deceitful as she may be, she could not hide that fact from me; I've sniffed out traitors among traitors, wolves lurking among my sheep. I saw it in her posture, in her hands. They were trembling, you know–and she was focused on him."
