Chp.3: Special Guests

*Third person P.O.V*

At the training grounds Alister and Rex were busy getting targets set up for the recruit's training of targeting practice. While the recruits were in the locker area and at various states of doing check lists on their issued arsenals Alister and Rex were setting up the area for the training. Rex had asked the recruits to make sure they had everything loaded with non lethal rubber bullets for target practice and stun bolts for the long distance combat later on as he didn't want any accidents occurring because the recruits were all a part of the same team before hand and the teams had given confirmation that they heard with a resounding "Yes Sir!!.

There were two groups set up and both groups had ten members in them. The groups were divided up between Alister and Rex so there was less chance of stray shots hitting a recruit and despite taking precautions as with any training with weapons even if it was non lethal combat armor was a requirement. How the training was divided was Alister was assigned the combat group while Rex got the targeting group and as the recruits complete the training they were assigned the teams would be swapped and the cycle would start again.

The two had yet to reveal to the recruits that two special guests may show up as both Rex and Alister knew that Ratchet and Rivet may want to take a easy today as they both knew the two were likely tired after what happened with Ratchet during the very early morning hours which still worried the both of them. Though Alister had only known ratchet for a much smaller timeframe then Clank he had grown to love ratchet in a familial way and realized Ratchet isn't Kaden and never will be Kaden. Ratchet was his own person and not his father and Alister still held major resentment towards his past self for verbally harming Ratchet with so many insults and threats to the point that Alister mentally beat himself up more often then not especially knowing now just how unfair he had been to ratchet all because he wanted to fix his mistakes.

As Alister got out of his thoughts an all to familiar sound could be heard from outside of good natured bickering and two sets of laughter in the background which made him smile as he went to greet Ratchet, Rivet, Clank and Kit to give them the rundown of what the plan was for the day knowing Ratchet and Rivet both defaulted to wearing armor when training was mentioned so that was one less thing to worry about and he knew clank and kit were never too far from their partners which was once again proven correct because as soon as alister got to the entrance the sound of a keycard being activated was heard and the door opens up letting in the two excited lombaxes as well as clank and kit who were trying in vain to get the attention of their partners to slow down while giggling as both Clank and Kit seemed to have started their own race at some point as Kit cheered when she beat Clank

Alister soon stopped the two excited lombaxes so they didn't trip over themselves or into him as Clank and Kit finally caught up and though they were robotic in nature they were both mimicking panting likely from slight overheating but, overall looked like they were going to be ok. Soon after ratchet and rivet calmed down he had gave them the rundown for the day explaining the training plan and then asked which group they wanted to help.

*Alister's P.O.V*

It had been a slight surprise to me that rivet had chose the long distance combat while ratchet chose the target practice as I figured he would of preferred the combat training however that was when I remembered that despite everything and the advanced armor created just for him and a few others ratchet would always have permanent damage to his body that couldn't be fixed without it potentially causing him even more pain or potentially killing him and that's a reality I don't want to face. I never wanted to face another reality where ratchet dies again and even though rivet didn't die in the past I never wanted to see her dead in front of me either. Neither should pass before I do as that thought felt so wrong on so many levels and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it. Just seeing them having fun and enjoying life was something I would always cherish especially when the lives they lead this entire time didn't allow for a lot of carefree moments.
