Barbie's POV

We all were too stunned to say anything.
But Jemma wasn't even finished.
"These people are literally taking advantage of me. And I am sick of it."

I was too stunned to speak. Did she hit her head when she fell?

"Jemma, listen, if you do this, you would be ruining your mother's reputation," Cassandra warned her with a serious tone.

Jemma scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"That's exactly what I intend to do... obviously."

I continued to stare at her in disbelief.
"I'm in!"
We all turned around to look at Patricia who walked forward casually.
This day cannot get any weirder!

"First off all, you should know that my mother and this “Kayla Black” have signed a deal....that I would model her clothes," Jemma continued speaking as if she wasn't bothered by spilling her mother's secrets to us, "But Kayla Black has to share half the prize with my mom. And I won't get any shit from this deal other than mental and emotional pain."

She really must hate her mother...like how Patricia hates her father.

"And her Kayla Black isn't even her real name," Jemma revealed what we already guessed. Now that confirms our suspicions.

"Then why is she...using a fake identity to enter this competition?" I asked the question that we all were wondering.

Jemma smirked. "Because the judges cannot enter the competition with their real names."

We all gasped in surprise.
What did she say right now?

"The judges?" Cassandra raised an eyebrow, acting....not surprised at all.

Jemma nodded, confirming our suspicions.
Among the judges there was only one judge who wanted to utterly destroy us.
My eyes went wide in realization.
No freaking way!

"I already have a guess," Patricia stepped forward, "But clarify it for me please. Which one?"

"Jenessa Jones...and I have no idea why she would hate you guys this much," Jemma rolled her eyes, "She's sooo annoying. She literally throws herself at rich men. She is the most classless woman I've ever seen in my entire life."

Patricia chuckled. "Tell me about it. She's soooo....cheap."
Whenever I think that this day couldn't get weirder, it gets even weirder.

These two couldn't even stand each other. Jemma literally used every opportunity to bully Patricia.
And Patricia viewed her as a typical rich, snobby and spoiled brat.

But now here they were, chatting as if they were....close friends.

"There's something I don't understand," I interrupted, "Why would she need the prize money of this competition when her rich boyfriends pay for everything?"

I mean sure she was a gold digger....but why go through all that problem? And the prize was only two million dollars....not as much to cover that woman's expenses.

"Yeah....you're right," Patricia agreed with my point, "There's no way in hell she would take such a huge risk...unless she has to."
I looked over at my friends.

Nikki was back at working on her designs and Stella was helping her out.
Renee and Teresa were listening to the conversation.

However, Cassandra wasn't paying attention to anything else. Her eyes were glued to her phone. And she looked a bit....annoyed to say the least.

"Cass, you okay?" I asked, concerned.
Cassandra groaned and rolled her eyes.
"This is the fifth time I'm blocking this dude's number. How on earth he keeps on messaging me? And what's with all these cheesy poems he's sending me?!"

Wait! Is someone harassing Cassandra?

"Is Ryan giving you a hard time?" Jemma guessed.
Ryan? Ryan Stern? How did he get Cassandra's number?

Ryan Stern was Jemma's cousin. We met him and Jason at the award ceremony. And we all knew that Ryan was interested in Cassandra.

"How do you know that?" Cassandra demanded, looking very much annoyed and was ready to beat the crap out of....someone.
"Chill! It's just ever since that ceremony, he keeps on bugging us about this beautiful blonde with pretty gray eyes who's feisty, fierce and cute. These are his words...not mine."
Jemma shrugged.

At that moment I saw something...that made this day even weirder.
Cassandra Clair Roberts aka the famous Ice Queen of the agency is BLUSHING!! Ohh my God!

Cassandra immediately tried to cover her face with her hair....but that wasn't really successful.
She groaned and rolled her eyes.

"Yeah yeah....whatever," she cleared her throat, "Focusing back on the matter. Why would Jenessa want to win the prize money? Isn't it too much of work for her?"

I mean she was quite right. Jenessa wasn't the type of woman to work for her money.

Jemma scoffed and laughed bitterly.
"Of course not! She's just a typical whore who goes around selling herself."

I looked over at others. Patricia just shrugged her shoulders and said nothing else.

Jemma sighed and continued.
"All the married men she had affairs with....including my father....they all ditched her."

Now that was new....for all of us. Even Patricia looked surprised...
I mean hearing that the president of the United States was having a secret affair with some side chick was quite the gossip.

"Now I'm starting to regret saving his life to begin with," Patricia mumbled but clearly she wanted us to hear it.

Cassandra rolled her eyes and glared at Patricia.
I mean technically we couldn't let the president die.
We were there to thwart the bad guys' plans.

"Sooo...Jenessa Jones is out there to destroy us....but why is your mother  in league with her to begin with?" Renee asked curiously.
Well...she had a point there.

"Well...she isn't really aware of that woman's affair with my father and she needs the money," Jemma replied and shrugged, "And Laura Stern is no longer getting any money from my dad for her expenses. So she needs the money and it's a win-win for her."

When I signed up for this trip, I didn't expect something like this happening. But whatever it is...it's still much better than what we went through on our mission.

"What should we do now?" Stella asked, "We can't let them just get away with cheating."

I nodded and turned towards others. "They won't. And here's the plan....."

A/N: I am so sorry for updating this late. I've been going through hell recently. I have assignments and projects to do.
On top of that, I lost two of my best friends....and one of them didn't even explain anything. She just vanished.

On top of that, I'm struggling with body image problems and I'm trying to lose weight...

I was planning on updating in spring holidays....but then it all went nuts. And my family is at the verge of breaking apart.

So in nutshell, “hell” doesn't even explain what I've been through.
But I'll definitely try and update more regularly. And thanks for sticking around and waiting for me. 😁
