Aaron and I were heading to my house, a sudden realisation struck me that I had planned to visit Felix.
"Aaron, you can head home now," I informed him.
"Are you still uncomfortable around me?" He questioned.
"No, not at all!" I assured him. "Actually, I need to check on Felix. He didn't come to school today, you know that right?"
"Ohh right, I forgot about that. Anyway, can I accompany you, if you don't mind?" He asked.
"If you want to, you can join me. But if you don't want to, don't feel obligated," I suggested.
"I would be delighted if you allowed me to come along, I don't have anything else going on," he expressed.
"Alright then, let's go," I agreed.
After 15 minutes, we arrived Felix's house, only to find the front door locked from outside.
"Strange! The door is locked!" I frowned in confusion.
"I suppose he must have gone somewhere else. You should head home now, Elina. It's getting late," Aaron adviced.
My mind weighed down with concern.
"I'll wait for a few minutes for him here," I murmured, my gaze fixed on the road in hope of his return.
"If he doesn't return then I'm gonna inform police," I thought. He has nobody except his mother and the thought that something terrible might have happened sent a chill down my spine.
"Ahh Elina, my dear, you're overthinking, he's fine wherever he is, maybe he is on a trip with his mother," Aaron tried to reassure.
I shook my head, a frown creasing my forehead. "No! If he had gone on a trip he would have informed me till now but he vanished without a word."
A deep dread had taken over me, and I whispered, "I hope nothing bad happens.""Look Elina, you both had a fight yesterday, so maybe he was upset with you, I guess that's the reason he disappeared without informing you," Aaron said in a convincing tone.
"But I called him thousand times since yesterday," I replied.
The desperation in my voice increasing, "Felix didn't pick up any of my calls, not even for a single second. Aaron I think we should go to the police station" I firmly insisted.
Aaron tried to offer one last piece of hopeful logic.
"If something had happened then why would he put a lock on the door? You're worrying too much, let's go home now," he said softly.
Then he continued, "And maybe the place he is in, has slow internet. That's why he is unable to pick up. If he doesn't return within one day then we'll inform police about everything, okay?"
Aaron was trying his best to convince me.
"I don't know anything Aaron, I'm afraid," fear was clearly visible in me.
Suddenly he pulled me in a tight hug and reassured, "Everything will be fine my sweetheart, don't worry, I'm always here for you and I'll never leave you like that Feli-"
I pushed him away saying, "He didn't leave me! He's just a bit upset with me! From past few days I had been behaving so rude towards him, maybe that's why he left me. And please Aaron, don't you further dare to say anything bad about Felix!" I warned him.
"Hey, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry Elina. I apologise for my mistake. I swear, I didn't mean it. I was just trying to comfort you," Aaron pleaded.
