Amanda was sitting on her bed working on homework when her phone started ringing. She picked it up seeing sit was Adalind she picked it up putting it to her ear. She had been trying to figure out what they were doing for her birthday. "Tomorrow is New Year your birthday is in two days you better not have a rant for me."

"Kade is dead?" Adalind groaned. She wasn't happy or mad but she was mad about what was happening because of it.

Amanda chuckled she didn't see what was so bad about it. They had never liked him anyways. "Isn't that good news the ass was abusing you."

"I apparently have 6 older brothers 2 stepbrothers and a stepmother." Adalind added. She knew that this changed everything and she wasn't ready for it. She didn't want to go she didn't want to deal with it.

"That's good." Amanda smiled she was happy for her best friend. She had more family she wasn't alone and it wasn't only her.

Adalind sighed she wished she could say that. But she wasn't sure she didn't want a family. "No it isn't I don't want brothers or another mom I didn't even like the one that I had."

"Addy." Amanda warned. She loved her bestie and she knew that this was hard for her but she knew it would be a good thing in the end.

"I have to leave and I don't want to."

Amanda felt her eyes water up but she couldn't cry not when she knew that this was going to be good for her.  "I'm never gonna see you again am I?"

"No me iré por mucho tiempo Tengo un historial limpio Regresaré al final de nuestro año"(I won't be leaving for long I have a clean record I will be back at the end of our year) Adalind promised. She wouldn't leave her best friend alone. She couldn't not when they knew they needed each other.

"Aún puedes ser una familia que realmente se preocupa por ti, suena como un sueño. Sé que te han lastimado mucho, pero dales una oportunidad a tus hermanos y a tu madrastra, por favor, Adalind, dales una oportunidad."(You can have a family that really cares about you sounds like a dream I know you've been hurt a lot, but give your brothers and stepmom a chance, please Adalind give them a chance.)  She wanted this fro her she wanted her to have the family that she should have always had.

"No hay manera de que tenga que ir, te extrañaré Amanda"(There's no way I have to go, I'll miss you Amanda) Sheknew better she knew Amanda only wanted the best for her she wanted to be their best friend. Vivian who was their sense of reason. And since Amanda couldn't say anything on stepmother since she hated them all.

The line went dead she looked at her phone sighing. "Dman it Addy." Amanda groaned she loved her bestie and she understood that she had been through a lot but she knew that this was what she deserved her chance to be happy.

She got up heading downstairs to get her pizza that was in the oven. "What are you doing?"

She turned seeing her mom and sister. She swore that they both had other things to do. "Didn't y'all have to work today."

Anaya shook her head she had planned to be off so they could get things together for Adalind's birthday. "No we're both off for New Year's because we worked Christmas."

"The Christmas you made me spend with dad and toy had to come get me cause i fought his new play thing thanks." Amanda smirked. She wasn't really interesting in talking about it.

Aaliyah huffed she could tell they were in for a long day if Amanda was already in a bitchy mood. "You're crankier than usual."

"Both of my best friends are gone." Amanda said angrily. She didn't want to talk about it she wanted her food and she wanted to go cry in her room.

"She in Juvie." Anaya asked. She knew that Adalind had been on the verge of going there several times.

Amanda scoffed she knew Adalind was never going to be there anytime soon. But now it was worse cause she was no longer even in LA. "No her ass of stepfather is dead and now she has to move to the east coast to live with her brothers and stepmom now I have no one."

Aaliyah sighed she knew that after Vivian moved away it had only been them two and now it was neither of them. "Mandy."

"Don't I just want food and to go to sleep."  She took her pizza out slicing it and heading upstairs.

"Great this is going to be just great." Anaya took a few breaths she knew that now with Adalind gone things were not going to be good for her,

"I'll call Tia." Aaliyah knew her aunt was going to need to know about what was going on here.

"Ok."

Aaliyah took out her phone dialing her aunts number. She knew that this was going to be a fun conversation.  "Yes Aaliyah have you finally decided you want to take over."

"No, but your heir's best friend just moved to New York."

"Oh." Isabella knew how close the girls had been and she knew separating couldn't be easy on any of them.

"So hold off on the date you have planned for her will you" Aaliyah pleaded. She knew that her sister just needed temporary relief while dealing with this.

"Fine but it will have to continue in a few weeks we need her to settle."

"And if she isn't ready."

"She has to be." Isabella didn't have many other choices. She had been in charge of the Cartel since she was 18. And with her not having any kids and her eldest niece not wanting anything to do with it Amanda was her only option.

--

Jaylen quietly left the house going to get into his car dialing Korey's number. "Hey, are you coming over?"

"Yeah I'm leaving now"

"Alright I'll see you soon."

--

Jaylen snuck back into the house seeing Aviana waiting. She was already in a nervous frenzy because Adalind was arriving she had no time to be dealing with the boy bs on top of it. "What did i tell you?"

"Tell you when i leave"

"And did you?"

"No." Jaylen knew that he was going to be in deep shit now.

"See the problem Jaylen." Aviana asked. She didn't want to put them under so many rules but she needed them to listen.

"Yes i do." Jaylen nodded. He was just ready to agree so that he could get out of this.

Soon the other brothers started to come downstairs. They knew this scene well Jaylen had gotten caught coming in.  "He's in trouble again isn't he."

"No, he just better learn next time." Aviana smiled shooting her stepson a glare. She wanted him to understand that she was serious about this.

"I'm gonna go wake our guest of honor."

"Ok."

--

After Adalind had headed upstairs they all looked at each other. "That's our sister?"

"I expect y'all to be nice to her." Aviana didn't care if they wanted it or not she wanted Adalind to feel welcome here and that started with their brothers.

"She looks like she's capable of ripping us all in two." Dion joked. It was funny but he was also dead serious and kind of scared of her.

"Very much so she had a record." Justin knew that it was going to be interesting dealing with her when she didn't want to be here.

"What?"

"Yeah, a long record." Aviana clarified. But that didn't matter this was a new start for her with them and she needed them to be have, "That has now disappeared this is new for her just like for y'all."

"A week ago we were saying we couldn't handle having a little sister and now we have one." Jaylen shook his head he already knew that they were going to be in for it now.

"We're so dead."

"Yup."
