Riyaz's pov:

The sunlight streamed through the college gates as I walked into the campus, hands in my pockets, scanning the area. My eyes instinctively sought Y/N, knowing she'd be waiting for me like always. And then I saw her, standing under the big banyan tree, her usual restlessness evident as she glanced around, probably cursing me for being late.

But something felt off. A figure approached her-a guy, and not just any guy. Suhas. That cocky grin of his was enough to set my blood boiling, even from a distance. What was he doing near her?

I quickened my pace, but before I could get closer, I saw the way his lips moved, calling her something. I froze in my tracks when Y/N's face contorted in confusion. What did he just call her?

I stayed back, watching the scene unfold.

"Excuse me, sister," he said with an audacity that made my fists clench.

"Sister? Me?" Y/N's voice carried across the courtyard, dripping with disbelief.

"Yes, you."

"What? Do I look like your sister?"

He shrugged, his tone maddeningly casual. "I don't know, but from today, you're my sister, and I'm your brother. You won't see your brother's face again after today. Bye, Sister."

He turned on his heel and walked off, leaving Y/N standing there, her jaw nearly hitting the floor.

"What the-" she muttered, still processing whatever nonsense had just transpired.

That's when I decided to step in, my usual smirk masking the irritation bubbling beneath the surface.

"What are you doing, Y/N?" I asked, my voice laced with casual curiosity.

She turned to me, her eyes wide. "Riyaz, Suhas was just here. And, oh my God, do you know what he just did?"

I shrugged. "What now?"

"He called me his sister!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.

I couldn't stop the grin that tugged at my lips. "He what? Called you sister? How dare he!"

Her pout deepened. "I'm serious! My crush just called me his sister. This is not fair, Riyaz."

"Yeah, he did really wrong," I said, pretending to consider her words seriously. "Actually, he should've called you his brother instead."

She gasped, smacking my arm. "Riyaz!"

I laughed, dodging her half-hearted attempts to hit me. "I'm not here! Bye!" I called out, sprinting away before she could retaliate.

What she didn't know was how Suhas got that bandage in the first place.

It had happened yesterday evening, right after I saw him lurking around the campus, smoking with his group of wannabe thugs.

I approached him, my steps deliberate, and my temper barely in check.

"Riyaz," he started, but I didn't let him finish. My fist connected with his face before he could say another word.

His head snapped back, and he stumbled, clutching his nose. "What the hell, man-"

Another punch.

"Riyaz, stop! Listen to me-"

I didn't care for his excuses. My fist met his face again, and this time, blood trickled from his nose. The others in his group, wide-eyed and pale, scattered like cowards, leaving their 'leader' to fend for himself.
