Ch.5

Alex's P.O.V

Walking downstairs, I headed to the living room where the sound of voices could be heard. Entering I see my mom and dad sitting on the couch.

"Hey kiddo, what's up?" My dad asked, noticing me. "Um, there's a party tonight and I was wondering of I could take the car?" I asked them. "I won't be drinking anything besides water and lemomad, I swear," I told them when they exchanged worried looks.

"I guess it's okay, but be home before 11" my dad said. "I will, thank you." I said with a smile before running up to my room.

Grabbing my phone I sent JJ a quick text that u would be driving there and then started to get dressed. Going to my closet, I pulled out one of the shirts Kia bought me and threw it one with a pair of ripped jeans and convers.

Hearing my phone go off, I went to grab it.

JJ- see you there, sunshine

Alex- is that what your calling me now?

JJ- yep, and if u don't like it, to bad

Alex- 🙄

Putting the phone down, I finished with my shoes before grabbing the keys and walking downstairs. "See yoy guys later," I called out to my parents before walking out of the front door.

After a few minutes of driving, I arrive at the bone yard to see that the party is in full swing.

Stepping out of the car, I made my way onto the beach. Hearing my name called, I turned to see the other pogues standing around a keg.

"Hey" I said running up to them. "Hey dude" John B said. "Your lemonade sir lightweight" Kia said, handing me a cup. Rolling my eyes, I took it and began to sip on it.

Soon after, we all began to split. I found myself sitting on a log listing to Kia talking to a girl about sea turtles.

"I'm just saying, we could all be more careful about what we put out into the world you know. Plastic is out there killing the sea turttles." Kia said to the girl who looked uninterested.

Smiling I grabbed Kia's hand bringing her attention to me allowing the girl to walk away. "I think you were boring her." I told her. "I was not" She exclaimed.

"If you say so" She said before standing up. "I'm getting another drink" She said. "Want to get me one?" I asked with a smile.

"Sure, if you want to become black out drunk and do somthing stupid" She said with her own smile. "Oh nevermind" I said waving her off.

Standing up I began to walk around the party. Stopping to say hello to a couple people I spotted the familiar head of blonde hair.

Walking towards JJ I stopped when I saw him talking to some tourn girl. A part of me knew I was being silly, but I couldn't help but feel jealous of the girl.

Making eye contact with JJ the said boy smiled and waved only for the girl to say somthing eyes causing him to turn back to her.

Letting out a deep breath I turned around. Forget being safe and not getting drunk. Walking towards the keg I went to grab a cup when I heard my name being called. Turning around I saw the famous kook princesses Sarah Cam'ron.

"Hey Alex Wait up." She said drawing her boyfriend Topper behind her. "Sarah, Topper" I greeted them receiving a nod from the boy.

"Long time no see, I feel like we haven't seen each other in forever" Sarah said with a smile. "Yeah, it's been a while" I said.

Suddenly I felt a arm wrap around his shoulder. Turning he saw JJ standing there with a drink in hand.

"Hey Sarah, why don't you try this?" JJ said trying to give the girl the drink. "No thanks, we were about to leave." Sarah said ba king uo with Topper.

"Why not, is it not fancy enough" JJ said unwrapping his arm from around my sholder. Knowing this would end in a fight i turned and walked a little ways back to stay out of it.

Suddenly there was the sound of fighting. Turning around I was surprised to see that it was John B on the ground with Topper.

Somehow the fight was pushed back into the water as the boys threw punches. Running up to the water I stood by Kia as we watched Topper began to dunk Joohn B's head into the water.

"Don't make me drown you like your old man" Topper yelled to John B over Sarah's own yelling for the boys to stop.

Suddenly I saw JJ walk up behind Topper with the gun. "Shit" I said as we all heard the safety come off.

"Yeah, you know what thay is, your move broskie" JJ said with the gun to Topper. "Kia get your psycho friend" Sarah yelled.

"How about you get your bitch of a boyfriend" I said in anger. Turning back I made eye contact with JJ. Sending him a pleading look I mouthed the word no to him.

With a roll of his eyes JJ pushed Yopper forward. "Alright everybody, listen up, get the hell of our side of the island" he yelled out before firing the gun in the air twice.

"Shit" I said again flinching back as the ones still on the beach ran. Following the others into the water I ran to John B as Pope and Kia scowlded JJ.

Reaching John B I put my hand on his shoulder. "You good?" I asked only for him to slump back. "Guys" I yelled out interesting their arguing.

Seeing John B passed out they ran over. "We have to get him home" Kia said. Nodding my head we began to lift him up only for JJ to take him in his arms.

Once we.made it to the van we put him in the back.

"I have to get home, it's almost my curfew" I told them. "Text me when he wakes up" I tell them before turning and walking to my car.

Getting ini started the car i ly for my passenger side door to open. Looking over I saw JJ getting in.

Sending him a questioning gaze he looked at me. "I need a place to stay" was all he said. Needing no other explanation I nodding my head and put the car in reverse.

One rule my family has is stay we never turn away someone in need, and no matter what I feel towards JJ right now, he needs help.
