As the two marched through the pebble and grass mixed pathway, the sun started to set. Alarmed, the two started to march more, with one of their arms around each other's shoulder
"Agh dammit Atheno, we may have to set up camp- BURP " Von says, then burping.
" Excuse you, and also that's correct." He says. The two are still drunk from the bar at Jelvoven. The two sit down and Von makes a campfire, keeping them warm. Atheno pulls out a big cotton blanket, and the two lay down on the grass while a jet black flame campfire keeps them cool.
The next morning, the Moon and the sun are parallel to each other. The moon's white glow makes strands of white come around it, while the sun's bright mixture of orange and yellow makes strands of orange and yellow come towards it, making the sun rays. Von gets up, walking to a tree and taking a piss. As he relieves himself, he slowly turns his head towards the sky, and notices terrifying: the tree has the most muscular and genuine face that even a humanoid can't reach.
" What the fuck-" Von uttered, covering his groin while the tree barraged him with a flurry of punches.
" Have some dignity. " The tree yelled, lifting Von up by the head and squeezing like a balloon about to pop. Von quickly activates his temataka, burning the tree's hands charcoal black. He groaned, and threw Von to Atheno, as if it were a stack of pancakes.
" Of- " Atheno coughs as Von lands on him.
" What the hell Von? Why did you- AGH! TREE MAN! " Atheno got up and looked at the humanoid tree. The bark, it's as if it replaced the human skin, but also grew branches out of it. Von got up and got into a stance and his fists lit up, burning the tree's skin with the black flames enhanced fists. He rushes at the treeman but gets blown back. Von gets an idea but he needs Atheno's permission to use it.
" Hey, bring out your chains and then cut them off of your fingers. I wanna use a technique. " He asks him, which Atheno accepts. Chains with a crimson red aura come out of Atheno's palm and tie against both of Von's wrist and forearm. The markings burn in him, and Atheno cuts the chain off him, letting Von use it. His forearm starts to steam and Von rushes to the tree man. He lets out some of the chain and wraps it around the treemans arms while sliding in between his legs and standing behind the tree man. The tree man turns and Von pushes his own upper body down and holds the treemans arm and the treeman gets flipped over. Von uses the attached chains to rip his arm off and then uses the other chain on his arm to shove it in the hole where his arm was to prevent regeneration. Von lights off one end of the chain and runs away, and as he does, an explosion occurs inside of the tree man, blowing him to smithereens.
" Boy am I glad you were here Atheno. If you weren't I would've died. " Von laughs, and so does Atheno. They pack up their stuff and continue to march to Vijetar on the pebble and grass mixed path. As Von marched, the straps of the backpack slowly weighed down on his shoulders, printing marks on his shirt. Von took off the backpack and withheld both of the straps tightly in one arm. Their marching turned into normal walking as they finally were brought near a sign.
" Look Atheno, just a bit more and we're there! God I can't wait to try the cow meat they have there. I hear it's really good. " Von thinks of the meat, drooling. Atheno also drools
" Yeah! It's gonna be delicious! " Then the two start to walk faster, and eventually have a race to see who would get there. Von moves his arms in circles ,and starts running as if he's a four legged mammal. Athen just lets out his chain till it attaches to something and it drags him to the location. While Atheno is being pulled by his chain to the spot the end of the chain landed, Von picks up speed. As he does, he takes off his shoes and does a flip. The bottom of his feet light up in black flames, and make a small explosion as he starts dashing forward, accelerating at a pace he hadn't seen before. He starts to see an orange brick roof and slowly a wall, it's a house! He starts rushing more towards it, but as he does, he feels his breathing getting faster and his heart pumping more. In a last ditch effort to win the race, he stops for a second, squatting down and standing on his toes. His whole foot lights up in black flames and with it being impacted on the ground he leaps forward, being launched high in the air at an even faster speed. The black flames on the bottom of his feet enter his feet, disappearing but it's as if the skin was peeled off, not entirely, more like a 1st degree burn. He lands on a roof and rolls down, and looks around to where Atheno is. Atheno is just there, against a wall of a bar, drinking water. Von stomps the ground, mad that he lost but then putting his shoes on again.
