Mariposa
I watch out the window as we drive down the road, watch the trees that blur together.
We've been driving for hours. It's been the most boring 3 hours of my life... that I can remember...I watch as we turn off, onto an old road. It looks dusty, and trails deeper into the wilderness. Eventually, we get to a clearing
Amongst the trees. There's a beautiful, German-style mansion with what seems to be a miniature house beside it.It's absolutely astonishing. I've never seen anything like it, as far as I know. It looks almost like a Disney princess castle. He pulls into the driveway and parks, turning the car off and pulling out the key. He slowly opens his door, unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out. He shuts the door softly behind him.
I unbuckle my seatbelt as He walks around the front of the car and opens my door. He holds out his hand to help me get out. I take his hand and gingerly step out, feeling like a princess. "Come on, princesa."
He walks me inside and I look around, hoping to recognize something about it. Nothing seems familiar though. I should've known it wouldn't be that easy, yet I still feel pure disappointment. Chris seems happy to have me home though, so that's nice.
The place is even more beautiful on the inside. The carpet is red with gold designs. It looks fancy. The rooms are made with different kinds of materials. Some of the walls are a shade of yellow that surprisingly looks nice. Sorta like a toned-down version of a buttercup.
There's an area that looks like it's made of oak. It seems elaborate. There's a study desk in the middle. It looks expensive. A beautiful, crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling. Behind the desk is a fireplace that looks like it might be made out of obsidian. There are many candles with golden candle holders.
There's a spiraling staircase that leads to some rooms. I can see the next floor a bit since there is only a small walkway around the edge. Across the room from the stairs, a large window with curtains to match the carpet.
We walk up the stairs and I look around a bit. There's a matching chandelier up here. There's a fainting couch against the railing. It's white with oak around the edges. There are some mirrors that look like windows on the wall closest to the stairs, a large bookcase reflects in them from across the room. There are drawers on the bookcase aswell. A small, gold horse statue sits in the corner. The ceiling is white with small, round lights built-in.
We walk into the bedroom, white carpet covering the floor. Chris tells me to take off my shoes, which makes sense so I don't argue. There are a lot of pillows on the bed with many different designs. The bed spread is white with a bit of gold. The entire style of this place looks like it's from the Renaissance period. Especially the painting above the bed.
The wall beside the bed is covered in windows, with curtains to match the bed. The wall across from the bed has a television with a dresser under it. There's a chest at the foot of the bed and dressers on both sides of the bed. The side closest to the door has an alarm clock on it. The one closest to the windows has a lamp on it.
The ceiling is white. It has the same circle lights from downstairs around the edge. It raises up in the middle, sorta like an odd pyramid. Even the ceiling is fancy. It has elaborate swirls around the base. there are even more swirls in a square tracing The raised-up part. This place is amazing.
