I guess you can't really call it snooping if it's my house, but it still feels like I'm a guest here. I want to know more about the place I used to call home. I start by looking through the drawers on chris's side of the room. I grab my phone and unpause my music. I had completely forgotten about it. the song 'Rabbit Hole' by AVIVA starts playing.
I could say I'll take you
I could say I'll make you
But underneath all I plan to do, to do is break you
You could be my breakthrough
Watching demons wait 'til
I leave you, and they can initi-niti-nitiate youNo one understands me
Too scared to command meThe first things I see are graphs and charts. this must be where he keeps his business stuff. I continue digging and find a black notebook. it looks like a diary of sorts. it has a black, leather cover with a golden clasp to protect it from intruders. It seems Chris forgot to lock it though. I open it to find writing scrawled slopply in cursive. he writes like a doctor, which makes sense considering he's the boss of a bunch of doctors.
I'll drag you into my home
Lose you deep in my thoughts
Fall inside the rabbit hole again
I'll drag you into my home
Lose you deep in my thoughts
Fall inside the rabbit hole againA picture is hidden between the pages, so naturally my first instinct is to look at it. I pull it from between the pages, seeing a woman who looks very similar to me, except she has a scar on her forehead. That's kinda creepy. I look at the name under the picture. 'Sarah.' what the hell? there was another Sarah before me? don't understand. This isn't making sense.
Rabbit hole, rabbit hole (fall inside the)
Rabbit hole again
Rabbit hole, rabbit hole (inside the)
Rabbit hole a- (fall inside the)
Rabbit hole, rabbit hole (inside the)
Rabbit hole ag-
Rabbit hole, rabbit hole (inside the)
Rabbit hole againSay you don't believe me
You can try but you will never, never, never leave meI begin reading the book: 'My dear sarah, I know you would be furious with me if you were here. I am sorry my love, but she looks just like you. I couldn't help myself. I followed her for months, and now I have her all to myself-'
I hear chris walking up the stairs and slam the book closed, burying it under the papers again. What am I supposed to do now?
I will always wait for you
I'll always be waiting
I will always follow you
'Cause you cannot escape me
I will always wait for you
I'll always be waiting
I will always follow you
'Cause you cannot escape me
