Meant For Each Other

Maya's POV

The next morning I wake up and it feels like any other day. But I know that something is different because today is the date! To be honest, I don't even know where we're going, mostly because Lucas refuses to tell me.

I go to school and enter Mr.Matthew class earlier than usual. I say earlier because I'm always late to his class, but I couldn't risk getting detention today.

"Wow, Ms.Hart this a surprise. So to what do I owe the pleasure of you coming early." He said rather sarcastically.

"My clock, I guess it was wrong." I lied.

That shut him up. Through his whole class I didn't pay attention, but then again I did. I like to act like I don't pay attention, but honestly I always do.

The day past fast and before I knew it I was back to my locker trying to put everything away before I leave.

"Hi. You ready for tonight?" I hear from behind me.

"Well if only you would tell me where we're going." I tell him hoping he would give me a hint to where we're going.

"Yeah you're not finding out until tonight." He replied.

"Ugh, fine." I say, then walk away.

I go straight home and then I see what time it is. 5:00, great I only have an hour to change. I go to my room and put on a white shirt with black lettering and a plaid shirt over it. I put on some skinny jeans and some high heeled boots. I only put on a little bit of makeup and walk out of the house.

I stop walking when I get to the park because that's where I told Lucas to pick me up. I wait for 3 minutes then see Lucas walking up to me.

"Hi there, Clutterbucket." He said.

"Don't call me that Sundance. So are you gonna tell me where we're going or are you gonna kidnap me?" I asked him playfully.

"I'm taking you to my secret spot, where I go to think about important things. Oh and before I forget to tell you it's in the woods." He remarks.

"Let's start walking then." I told him.

In about in hour we're at his spot. And I got to say it's beautiful, maybe even perfect. It even had a lake and everything! We started talking about random things and everything was going great until...

"Maya, I have to admit to something. I haven't broken up with Missy." Lucas said. Those words burned through my heart.

"I'm sorry Lucas, but I can't date you if you're dating someone else." I say then start walking away. He stops me and looks straight into my eyes

"If two people are meant for each other, it doesn't mean they have to be together right now." He says then leans in and kisses me. I kiss back, but quickly pull away.

"I just can't do this if you're dating someone else. Bye Lucas." I say then run, I run and somehow find my way back to my house. His words keep running through my mind. 'If two people are meant for each other, it doesn't mean they have to be together right now,'

See this is why I don't hope for things. You hope for things, you get disappointed, story of my life.
