Mid-winter season in Danmarre was a time of seclusion and safety. Despite the freezing and frigid weather conditions, two young siblings, Argentum and Lindice, continued selling matchsticks and newspapers in local streets and neighborhoods.

Though left alone to bear the brunt of the cold season, the siblings lacked the knowledge of a normal, safe life as their world suddenly transformed into a nightmarish horror full of chemicals and machines. All they wanted was to return to their once peaceful and uncomplicated existence.

"I was there," he muttered to himself, "I was there when the murderer killed you. I couldn't do anything but watch as your blood ran freely. I'm pathetic; I simply let the raging crowds carry me." He groaned, his chin rising with sudden rage and madness, "But don't worry, Emma. I will succeed with my plan. I won't let anyone stand in my way. I will seek my revenge for you. I promise." "You mean Lan? He truly is the most obedient child at the orphanage, though it may not count as one. Rather, it behaves as a house where the mastermind intends to make us into assassins or soldiers or whatever it may be to end the life of the royal highness who provides us with but a pittance." Exclaimed the child who seemed to be more of an introvert rather than an extrovert, his eyes focused on the dirt and the stick he used to scribble on its surface.

"I shall believe that his mother was indeed a very well-known figure. I never would have considered the thought of him committing such a heinous deed by placing a bomb onto the pie intended for her." Said the children as they sat quietly at the corner, their voices mixed with fear and fascination.

"Marie! Judith! Anne!" The girl exclaimed in sorrow, her voice echoing throughout the area as she calls out for all her friends. The sight of the manor, which previously stood tall and proud, now being engulfed in flames and turning into a fiery pit of hell, was too much for her to bear and broke her down. She can no longer hold in her sadness and emotions and can only cry and call out for her friends while witnessing the manor burning down.

"We, as children, have been abandoned by our families and loved ones... Are we deemed as useless and only meant to be used by some overly powerful noble in order to fulfill their plans and desires? Since they believe that children are fragile beings, easy to manipulate and so vulnerable?"
