Suddenly, just as I braced myself for the imminent impact, I felt myself falling... into something else. It was as if I had fallen through the ground, tumbling into an unseen void. I opened my eyes to find myself not in the grass of my front yard but in a completely different place, as I dropped onto the grass from a shimmering portal of light.

"W.. where am I?" I stammered, looking around in disbelief. The landscape was unlike anything I'd ever seen. Lush green fields stretched out as far as I could see, dotted with quaint villages and majestic castles. Flying creatures filled the sky, their vibrant colours a stark contrast to the blue sky. It was as if I'd stepped into a fantasy novel. This was definitely not my front yard.

"What do you mean where are you?" A strange and unfamiliar voice sounded "You're in Emelka of course!"

"Never heard of it." I looked up at who was speaking. It was a small boy, about my age by the looks of it. He wore a yellow sleeveless shirt, blue-green shorts, and an oddly shaped hat of the same colour. He held his hand out for me to take, and helped me up from the grass. "By the way, what were you doing falling out of the sky like that?" He asked, while giving me a questioning look.

"I'm not exactly sure... I was falling down the stairs one moment, then I was falling out of the sky the next." I stared at the palms of my hands for a second, and they seemed to glow with a dull blue light. "Strange..." The boy said as he glanced at my beanie, noticing something that I couldn't see myself.

Little did I know that there was a faint glow coming from the beanie, and that I didn't notice it while putting it on as I was in a rush for the pancakes.

"...Hey, follow me." The obnoxious boy who still hadn't introduced himself, said to me in a softer voice than before. He took my wrist and led me into the nearby forest, glancing over his shoulder every now and then. We reached an area that was darker and I saw the glow from my beanie on a close tree.

'Shit, I thought I covered it well' I thought to myself as the boy rummaged through his bag, pulling out a hat that looked similar to his, except it was a shade of f/c. He was mumbling something that sounded like "Should... hidden.. better..." although that's all I could understand as he took off the beanie and replaced it with the f/c hat.

As he adjusted the hat on my head, he finally seemed to relax. He stepped back, giving me a once over before nodding to himself.

"There, that should do it," he said, meeting my gaze. "By the way, I'm Yugo."

I blinked at him, still stunned by everything that had happened in the span of what felt like only minutes. "I'm Y/N L/N," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. As I looked at Yugo, this boy who seemed as much a mystery as the world I had found myself in, I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. As strange and scary as everything was, I had a feeling that my life was about to become an adventure I never could have imagined.
