Chapter 1

Mackenzie P.O.V

So my mom and dad though it would be a good idea to move all the way across the country.

No I'm not over exaggerating, we move from New York to California.

 Its been 3 days since we arrived at our new house I have to admit it is beautiful. My parents thought it would be great idea to invite our neighbors over to dinner so that's where we are right now.

Currently I am just finishing up unpacking. When I was interrupted by my mom knocking on my door. "Come in mom" She opened up and stepped in.

"Hey sweetie I was just coming to tell you to get ready our guests will be over in about thirty minuets."

"Okay"

Once she was out the door. I went to my closet and picked out some leggings and a long sweatshirt dress. 

I curled my brown hair and put on some light makeup. I finished it of with some earrings and some black wedges.

I decided to start heading down. I noticed that the guests were already here and sitting at the table.

I took my seat after my parents introduced me to Mr. and Mrs. Carter . "Our son Austin should be here any minute he insisted on taking his own car."Mrs. Carter said

I was dreading meeting their son I don't do well with guys and they don't do well with me. I turned around and saw my sister walking in.

"Hey sis I hope you don't mind if I sit next to you." Brittany said sitting down

 I smiled "It doesn't matter."

"Mack please be nice to Austin I kind of like him."

"No problem I am not interested in boys anyways" I mumbled. I did a quick look over of her. Brit's hair was pulled up into a bun and she had light makeup on and knee length maroon colored srapped dress that had a opening in the back, with matching maroon high heels.

"Mom im going to use the restroom" I said getting up.

 "Ok hurry up Austin will be here any minute. "She exclaimed

 "Ok" I ran up to my bedroom. I took out my laptop and looked on our schools page. I went to the front page and sure enough I found Brittany and Austin carter. They were smiling as homecoming queen and king.  He honestly looks like a fuckboy. I heard the doorbell so I raced down the stairs. I sat in between my sister and mother.

"Austin meet Mrs. hunter and Mr. Hunter" His parents said

"hello Mr. and Mrs. Hunter and Brittany, I don't believe I've seen you before." he says winking at me.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes I hate him already. My mom answered for me "This is Makenzie me and her just moved her with my husband and Brittany."

 "Nice to meet you Mackenzie" I nodded.

"Hey Austin" Brittany giggled and went up to hug him.  He sat right across from me, great.

The rest of the night was really awkward our parents talked but I didn't. Once dinner was over we said our goodbyes and I picked up a piece of paper that was by my chair. I decided to read it once I got up to my room.
