Chapter 4: The Oath

Ok, so let's go over what has happened so far. So I moved from Michigan to here, Minnesota and became friends with Claire, Jackie and Kaleb. Also, Kaleb is the one I really like. We aren't you know a "thing" yet. So Kaleb was beginning to be Claire, Jackie's and I's friend. We also figured out that a girl named Paige wants Kaleb all to himself and his trying to ruin my life!!!😠😠 is my emotion I feel about.... Paige or as I say Maleficent. So we decided to go to Hope's Cafe and little miss Maleficent(that's now Paige's code name. I shall not say her name unless I have and I mean have to talk to her) was there and she decided to shoot me with word bullets making me cry and run out of the café. I don't have tough skin so yeah, but anyways, I ran to my room, locked the door, cried and laid on the cold floor. This is were my story begins after the café thing.
" Skyler, please open the door.", Jackie exclaimed.
"No. You can't and I won't let you see me like this.", I said looking at the door.
" Skyler, I don't know how Paige got there. I didn't set you up. Please come out.", said a much deeper voice from the other side of the door. I knew it was Kaleb by his first word he even spoke. The song "Cry for Love" and "Only when your Close" by Zendaya kept replaying in my head because those song was totally describing my love life right now.
" Kaleb, you don't really care. I'm pretty sure you were laughing with Paige while I was gone. You knew she was coming. You just wanted me to not think you were as shallow as a kitty pool. You just came back to say "sorry" so I would still be like "your still my friend" so Maleficent could attack again and again.", I said as I grew a mad face. I was mad at two things, Kaleb and "Maleficent" and me having no hot chocolate. I was so thirsty I couldn't feel my throat.
"Please let me and Jackie in.", Claire said.
"Fine.", I said. I unlocked the door and Jackie and Claire ran in. So did Kaleb.
"Skyler, if I was with Paige-"
"Noooooooo! The name.... Paige is not allowed in this room. You must say Maleficent. Now proceed.", I said holding up a finger.
"Really?", he asked.
"Ok. It sounds childish. Forget what I said about the Maleficent thing.", I exclaimed with embarrassment.
"If I was on Paige's side I wouldn't have ran all the way here just to see you. I also wouldn't of said this. He gave me his phone and I listened to the recording of him saying stuff to Paige. I started to blush. He really did care. Does he actually like me.....nah!
"How do we know we can trust you?", Jackie asked while circling Kaleb while giving him "the stare".
"An oath!", Claire yelled.
"Claire, this is not the time to be wanting to eat oatmeal.", Jackie exclaimed as she had her hand on her head.
"Not oats, oath! An oath, Jackie", Claire said.
"Right!!!! Proceed.", Jackie said as she started to blush.
" Kaleb, please put your right hand up and repeat after me. Jackie go stand behind him to make sure he isn't crossing any fingers. Oh Kaleb, also take off your sock and shoes. So I can make sure you aren't crossing your toes.", Claire exclaimed professionally. I giggled a little by the face Kaleb had on his face.
"So, these are your friends?", he asked me.
"Yep. These are my girls.", I said to him. My tears had stop and I wasn't thinking about Paige. I was smiling. The thing was though that Kaleb was with me! Hanging with me! Not Paige, me!! Yes!
"I, Kaleb....", Claire said.
" I, Kaleb Jonathan Green.", he repeated. The girls and I tried not to laugh but we couldn't hold it in. We fell on the ground laughing.
"What? It's not funny. I like my name.Now just get on with the oath.", he said not laughing at all but then we saw him start to buckle and he started to laugh too. We all were laughing.
"Ok,ok. I, Kaleb Jonathan Green pink fluffy unicorn promise that I am able to trust and that I am on Skyler, Claire and Jackie's side. Paige is out of the picture.", she said staring at his toes while I stared at his eyes. They weren't crossed. At all. He repeated what Claire said.
"Pink fluffy unicorn promise?", he asked.
"What? It means the ultimate promise. We created it a few hours ago.", Jackie told Kaleb. Kaleb sat down and put on his sock and shoes.
"Ok. I believe you.", Claire claimed as she she came and sat next to me on my bed.
"Me too.", Jackie claimed as she too came to sit on my bed next to me.
"Skyler?", Kaleb asked me.
"Ok. I believe you.", I said to him. He smiled at us and put his hands in his pockets.
"Well, we better get to class. We already used up all our social time.", he said and headed for the door.
"Yeah.", I said. We grabbed our stuff and headed for our classes. Me in science, Kaleb and Jackie in history and Claire in Language arts. I suddenly felt more confident with my friends beside my side. I don't even care about Paige and her tries to get Kaleb. I don't think it's going to happen.
