•|Lab coat|•

Y/n's point of view:

I was walking down the hallway with a coffee in my hand and some papers in the other, as I made my way to the boss's office.

I knocked on the door, and waited, and heard a respond "come in" from the inside, as I opened the door and went inside.

"Here's your coffee and some papers that you wanted from production."

I said, as Mr. Darling was usually working at his desk, as he's eyes were darted on the computer screen.

"Put it on my desk and please sit down, I have something to discuss."

He said, as I put the things on his desk and he gesture me to sit down and I did so.

"Want do you want to discuss, Mr. Darling?"

I said, raising a brow at him, as he raised a hand for silence, he was not quite happy of my nervousness or I was not silent.

After a moment, he broke the silence as he spoke.

"I'm sure you recall.. in the lab, that you're going to do today? I don't want experiments going waste, as my assistant, don't fuck it up."

He glared at me for a moment, he made eye contact with me that made something in my stomach, and my soul really want to look a way, I didn't like the fact that he always made eye contact with me, with a situation like this.

"Yes, Mr. Darling, you will not suspect of one of your experiment are going waste."

He took a sip on his coffee, before placing it again on his desk and looked at me, before he spoke.

"I'll be pleasant if your words are true, anyway, be at the lab in 9:30, I won't take any reason why you are late than 30 minutes."

He leaned back and crossed his arms, as he looked at me.

"Yes, Mr. Darling."

"Good, you're dismissed."

I stood up and left his office and went to my office and began to work on some papers, until someone knocked on my door.

I responded "Yes, what is it?" And the person answer.

"Delivery for Mx. Neighbor?"The person said, as I stood up and walk to the door and opened it, and saw a guy holding a box in his arm.

"That would be me."

I saw the person who seems familiar to me.. Eddie!?

"Wait-.. EDDIE!?"

"You seem suprised to see me."

He chuckled, you see, I knew Eddie since college and he married a guy named Frank.. like you don't know why the reason he married that guy.

"You haven't changed since I last saw you."

"Same for you I guess.."

We both chuckle, and I gesture him to come in and he did.

I sat on my desk and gesture him to sit down and he did so.

"So, you worked here?"

"Yes, so you worked for Mr. Darling as his assistant?"

He looked at me with a raised brow, as I took a deep breath.

"Look, I know what you're thinking right now and I don't feel talking about it."

I said, as I leaned back and crossed my arms, and looked at the other direction, I didn't feel like talking about the whole thing why I thought this was a safe job but noo.. it wasn't.

"Y/n, you know that what they do here."

"I know, but what if I should quit from this job?"

Eddie looked at you, like he was gonna say something there's gonna be an exchange if I quit my job of this place.

"You know, if you retired or quit your job, you'll get... you get the picture.."

He said, as he leaned back and I looked at him, as I  sighed.

"I know that.. but, why didn't any of the workers report this to the police?"

"They'll get killed even if you tried who knows what will Mr. Darling do to you."

I sighed again, and looked at the box that Eddie was holding earlier, it was just a box that was named by my name.

"Well I gotta go Y/n, I have to do my job, see you around then?"

I looked at him and smiled.

"Oh, well bye, and yes, see you around then."

I waved good bye to him, as he left my office closing the door. My attention went back to the box that Eddie had delivered to me.

I pulled out a pair of scissors and gently cut the duck tape off and opened the box and saw a.. white lab coat? Well make sense, since everyone in this place wears white lab coat.

I thought about putting it on when I took it from the box. I looked at myself when I put it on, well this is a comfortable item.

I looked at the time and saw it was 9:20, I decided to keep my lab coat on and left my office and head to the lab.
