(Day 16)
Lucryn: Azrael, I've told you, don't fight like an idiot.
Azrael pushes himself up, gritting his teeth as he glares at the two Charcadet's.
Azrael: You asked me to fight them with only the moves psybeam and psychic!
Lucryn could sense Azrael's frustration, but he gave it little thought.
Lucryn: Did I ask you to foolishly use those moves back to back. Fighting is not solely about using moves.
Azrael: I know that!
Lucryn: If you choose to solely use moves, at least know how to make the most of them.
In a rage, Azrael uses psychic on Blayz, preparing to fire off psybeam in the next moment. Before he can fully prep psybeam, Omni punches him hard, sending him once more crashing to the ground. Lucryn sighs, 'Azrael is to proud'
Glancing at the three, Lucryn wonders how much longer Azrael will need to get beaten up before he makes a breakthrough. Omni and Blayz are truly no match for Azrael when Azrael is going all out, but one day they will surpass Azrael, the reason being as simple as this. 'Azrael is not meant to be a warrior at the frontlines. Not in the way he desires.'
Watching Azrael get singed by Blayz's lava plume and taken down by Omni using ember, Lucryn lets his eyes flutter shut. 'It is better for Azrael to realize it sooner rather than later.'
Eyes lowering, he scrutinizes his Z-tablet, the screen showing a beautiful drawing of two arrays. These arrays belong to Omni and Blayz. Omni had earlier in the day learned a new move, leer. The summoning array had changed slightly, a new symbol being added to the outer ring, the color of the symbol being gray, which is the color used in reference to normal types, which matches the move type.
The outer ring symbols representing pokemon moves made sense if that is the case, and knowing that, decoding the symbols became simpler. Of course, knowing the symbols referred to moves didn't mean you'd know which symbol is which. For example, if a fire type pokemon has five fire type moves, all five symbols would appear slightly different, but still be the same red color. There's no telling them apart unless you already know what each one is or have a way to compare them.
Blayz also has the move leer, the two symbols matching in appearance. Lucryn creates a new page on his Z-tablet and draws out a symbol he now knows stands for leer. Having compared all of his bondeds summoning arrays he was able to identify a few more symbols. Ember, Night Shade, Close Combat, Growth, and Fling. Six symbols in total, and there's hundreds if not thousands of moves out there. Not to mention trainers are always coming up with new moves, but this is a good starting place. 'With time I'll learn this language'
"Good, you actually listened and didn't run off again." Lucryn's eyes slowly open, roving over to Lance who he had sensed watching him for the past few minutes. "You know Steven's finally calming down a bit. He's been mentioning taking you to Panem Auction House, he wants to buy you some protective gear considering your ability to constantly run into danger."
Lucryn notices how Lance's eyes go to Azrael, narrowing, assessing Azrael's threat level. Yesterday during Lucryn's training they had discovered Azrael's existence as well as Cye's. They had long known he had contracted more pokemon considering the mark on his arm had additional colors. Still, they didn't know what the last one or two pokemon Lucryn's contracted are. Lucryn's yet to summon them in front of him and they don't plan on prying. 'Still, to have 5, maybe 6, perhaps even more pokemon is shocking. Cynthia's been messaging me nonstop, the entire league is in a stir about it. Why do pokemon like this child so much?'
"The auction will be happening tomorrow morning so no running off to play tonight." Lance states, hand reaching out to pat Lucryn's head. Lucryn deftly evades the hand, looking at Lance with those emotionless eyes that are unnerving. Lance coughs, trying to hide his laughter that was threatening to rise up. This child is so cute!
Lance has to stifle his urge to try to pat Lucryn's head again. He really didn't want to offend the child and ruin whatever trust is starting to form between them. "I have some free time, I'll train with you if that's alright."
Lucryn doesn't agree or disagree with this idea, Lance taking it as a silent form of acceptance. Flicking his fingers, Lance summons Dragonite and Tyranitar. The large scale summoning circles are tens of feet wide, the two large pokemon rising out, letting out war cries.
Lucryn is instantly gone, having run into the woods as soon as the two creatures appeared. With a flick of his finger he had returned Azrael, Omni and Blayz. "Wait!" Vaguely he heard Lance yell for him, but he wouldn't stop. The level of threat he felt from these creatures. His hand rises to his chest, the thumping of his heart, the cold sweat on his back, he knew it, those two creatures could easily kill him one hundred times over. 'To be found by them is to die.'
Swinging from tree to tree, Lucryn lands lightly on the ground, no pain greeting his rapid movements, his body fully recovered. Choosing a rather tall tree he rapidly climbs it, calming his heartbeat, he tries not to dwell on memories threatening to rise up, instead focusing on erasing his very presence. 'I don't want to be in pain anymore.'
Lucryn curls his fingers into fists, trying to control his inner emotions. 'I have no right to desire anything...I'm a mistake...I shouldn't-'
"Lucryn?!"
'-exist'
"I should've warned you, I'm sorry, I didn't think. Lucryn?! Please come back, I returned them both."
'I have no right to live.'
Lucryn relaxes his body, leaning his head back as he looks up at the sunlight shining through the canopy of leaves.
'Why must I suffer?' The thought is more of a silent plea, a plea for an end, but he knows no one will hear it. His fingers go to his throat. 'No one will ever hear it.'
