(Day 49)
"Lucryn, what do you think of the move lava plume? I want to run some tests on it and begin working on a training plan to increase its heat level and area of effect." Professor Oliver says, playing around on his Z tablet as he records some info.
The two stood outside by the training fields, Lucryn's two Charcadet's mock battling each other. Today's Friday, not one of his normal work days, but due to the military mission throwing off his schedule, he had agreed to work Wednesday through Friday of this week. It may have been a mistake though as he was hounded by Professor Oliver and various other researchers about his new pokemon. It would seem he's become a hot topic on battle net and everyone is trying to find out where he lives. Thankfully that tidbit hasn't leaked out yet, but it's only a matter of time.
Lucryn taps at his Z Tablet, handing it over to Professor Oliver. He has done research on all the moves of his pokemon, each one having their own separate page. At the moment he showed Professor Oliver the page regarding lava plume.
Professor Oliver pushes up his glasses, nodding in appreciation. "Very accurate info, oh, the activation time is under ten seconds, hm, if I remember right this move usually takes around twenty to activate. Lucryn, can you have one of your Charcadet's use the move?"
Lucryn: Pause your battle, Omni, show the professor Lava Plume.
Omni focuses, the flames on his body growing in size, the air blistering around him as he raises his hands. With a boom, a plume of lava shoots from the ground a few feet from him, splattering the ground with stray droplets, a sizzling sound reaching their ears. "Very impressive, your pokemon can activate this move far above the normal required time."
"Work on increasing its size, once you get it to be about two feet in diameter, report to me." The professor says, handing Lucryn his Z Tablet. "I'll be off, remember to bring Marshadow next time you come."
With a cheerful wave, the Professor saunters off, Lucryn watching him go.
Omni: Resume battling?
Lucryn: No, we have only about two hours before Steven arrives, let's practice something new.
Lucryn begins explaining meditation to the two, having them quietly sit.
Lucryn: Just focus on your body, the energy within, how that energy moves. Don't let yourself be distracted during this time.
The three all sat right near the battlefield, the sounds of battle reaching them. At times a loud explosion would come from the battlefield as an Electrode and Charmander battled, the two Charcadet's struggling to stay focused and not be distracted by the noises.
Lucryn quietly entered a state of inner focus, calming his mind and letting himself relax. The reason for this exercise is both to rest the bodies and to teach the Charcadet's control. When they can freely manipulate the energy within them as well as remain calm and collected in the middle of a battle will be when Lucryn stops having them do meditation exercises.
"Lucryn." A voice brings him from his meditative state, not that he had allowed his senses to go mute, he had sensed the person's approach. By the sound of the footfalls, he also knew who had approached. Opening his lilac eyes, he gazes up at Steven who smiles back at him. "Glad to see you actually listened for once and didn't run off to explore the woods."
Lucryn flicks his finger, his two Charcadet's vanishing into their summoning arrays. Rising, Lucryn stretches, feeling his muscles popping from being still for so long.
