Yami hummed to herself, frying eggs and bacon. She was glad she didn't have a fever last night after the stitches. She put the eggs and bacon on two plates and opened the bread bin, taking a few slices of bread to toast them. Just as she was turning to the toaster, Toya came in shirtless, yawning loudly.
"Thought you'd be sleeping till afternoon today." He lazily leaned against the counter, rubbing his eyes. Yami found it cute. She shrugged, putting the bread in the toaster.
"I've had worse injuries." She said. "This was nothing in comparison. Anyway, breakfast is ready."
Yami put the plates in a big tray, going to the dining room with Dabi in toe. He sat across from her, picking up the fried egg with his fingers, bringing it to his mouth and taking a bite of the white. Yami's eye twitched as she passed him the chopsticks. He took them from her, not bothering to look up from the food. This man ate like he was having his last meal.
Yami took a bite of her bacon, her eyes finding ways to go back to his lean yet toned torso. They lingered on his staples and scared skin, imagining what it would be like if he never had a quirk accident. If things were normal. Her gaze shifted up to his face, recalling his once white and fluffy hair. He told her they used to be red at some point, but she never got to see that since she met him when his hair was all white.
"You're staring, princess," Dabi smirked.
"Remind me why you're shirtless again."
"Because I tore my shirt for you last night." Dabi reminded. Yami nodded when she remembered.
"I forgot to ask. Why were you there last night?" She asked.
"I paid a little visit to my ashes." He said dryly. "Found out Shoto's taking the entrance test to U.A. in a week. So I just was hangin' around later."
"Ah... U.A." Yami sipped on her coffee, taking a trip down memory lane. Once upon a time, six-year-old Yami wanted to be a hero. But that wasn't the case once she was a teenager. She shrugged off the memories, glancing at Dabi again.
"Want to go shopping with me?" Yami asked.
"No."
"You can get new clothes... instead of hanging around without a shirt."
"Does it fluster you?" He grinned at her slyly, making Yami roll her eyes. "Besides, you killed a hero yesterday. Aren't you afraid you're going to get recognised?"
"I killed him because he saw my face. I'm okay with walking around in public when im in 'civilian' mode. The only problem is when I'm in my work attire. That's when I can't show my face."
"Must be nice not having staples and burnt skin," He said sarcastically. "Plus, I don't have a shirt."
"Oh, you can borrow one of Nori's or Ryo's." She replied. "I'm sure I stole a few of their hoodies... must be somewhere in my closet."
