Clear Intimacy

I went outside to have a breath of fresh air. As it turns out, I am right. It feels too hot. I shouldn’t have left my room. What am I supposed to do in this heat, in the park, while sitting on a bench? At least the trees’ leaves can cover me. But I could also just go home. Thinking about all of this, I didn’t realize how easy it was to ignore my surroundings and be lost in my thoughts.

She was already sitting beside me, smiling and looking at my, most probably, uncomfortable features. “Hi, it’s been a while,” she beamed. “I haven’t seen you around since our finals.”

“It’s because school’s over. I just wanted to sleep through the exhaustion I’ve endured throughout our year.” I sighed. I couldn't help but complain. It wasn’t because school was hard, studying wasn’t bad at all. It’s just…tiring. At least the rest of our friends were with me to share all our pains, otherwise, I’d die there.

“Oh tell me about it! I hate the fact I’m having summer school right now.”

“Academic victim at its finest, aren’t you?” She laughed joyfully at my comment. What did she expect, anyway? If she didn’t register herself then she’d at least be enjoying our vacation. I bet this girl also has part-time work and will complain about how stressful her life is. Is it just me or is the wind at least picking up? I don’t feel so hot and sweaty anymore.

“And I also have work, ah!”

Yep, called it.

“Well, at least you’re earning money and will be able to buy clothes and makeup…right?” I think it’s good for her to have work because this girl adores shopping. “You’re right! But I’m getting tired of shopping because I don’t even have a boyfriend to show my new clothes to!” she grumbled. There she goes again.

“You don’t need a boyfriend to show your cute self, you have me and the rest of our friends. We adore how you look. And you look good in yellow and white.” I smiled at her as I stood up and stretched my back. “I have to go now, I wasn’t planning on staying outside for long,” I glanced at her. “I’m glad to see you here. See you when I see you.” She waved and I started to walk away. “See ya! And thanks for the color advice! I’ll try to wear them.”

What a bright person. She is just like the sun.

I cherish her energy, her personality…everything about her. Man, I didn’t know I liked this girl so much. She makes me smile whenever I need to.

The heat wasn’t so bad at all, I’m glad I went out.
