“Always the wrong person”

Were they? Or maybe they were the right person for only that moment. They might not have stayed, but that doesn’t mean none of it was real. Everything you’ve adored and cherished was yours to truly hold.
They might have been a “mistake”---but doesn’t everyone else make mistakes? And we learn from it to never repeat doing another one.
Just because everything went to nothing, it doesn’t mean you have to blame yourself for choosing the “wrong one”.
You should always acknowledge all the things you’ve felt, you’ve endured, you’ve hated, you’ve once loved; because it hurts more to feign ignorance over your once beyond-compare world.
They weren’t meant to spend their whole life with you. But for that one moment, they spent it with you.
They were your temporary person.
And I hope this holds and pieces together a heart that has been shattered multiple times.
