(A/N: I didn't want to post this chapter at first because it isn't very good, so please forgive my mistakes and/or boring writing. Enjoy the little Ziam video at the top as well. It's cute! x)
Zayn's P.O.V.- 'Zayn, I think Liam loves you.'
Those words kept spinning in the back of my head for the past week.
Was I the one who Liam wrote about in his book? If so, how long has he loved me? What if it isn't even me?
All of these questions, but no answers.
The second hand ticked on the clock for what felt like forever. Finally, the bell rang telling us that school was over.
"Have a nice weekend everyone!" My art teacher, Mr. Bentley, yelled to all of us.
I hurried to put my art supplies away and placed my book bag on my right shoulder.
Liam, Liam, Liam.
I hurried to his locker but he wasn't there. Where was he? He usually stops by his locker after school every day.
Luckily, I found Perrie.
"Perrie!" I shouted, causing her to turn around.
I ran to her and she placed her hands out in front of herself to stop me.
"Perrie, where is Liam?" I asked, worriedly.
"Calm down Zayn." She said to me, her voice steady. "He wasn't here at all today. I'm not sure exactly where he is at, but I would check his house. I did hear rumors of people bullying him again."
My eyes widened, "W-What people?"
She sighed, "Louis, Harry, Niall, and a bunch of other people."
I became furious and felt tears form at the rim of my eyes. Stepping back, I wiped my eyes quickly.
"Zayn, I'm sorry. Go and find him, yeah?" She told me, tilting her head a bit.
"Okay, I'll go now. Thanks." I responded, pulling her in for a hug.
"Anytime, Malik." She smiled at me.
I hurried outside and ran to Liam's house, considering it was only about two blocks away.
When I reached it, I knocked on the door and shifted my knees back and forth.
"Zayn?" Karen asked, opening the door. "What are you doing here?"
I looked her right in the eye, "Where is Liam?"
"He told me not to tell you." She sighed. "But he's at the park right now."
"O-Okay, thanks." I replied, rushing to the park.
I ran from the corner of Liam's street all the way to the park which wasn't very far.
I looked everywhere for Liam and finally at the place where he would most likely be, the basketball court.
When I faced that direction, I cursed under my breath.
Louis, Niall, and Harry.
They hopped into Louis' car quickly and began to drive away, laughing.
I ran down the hill and over to Liam who lay on the ground, holding his head and crying. Blood fell down his face from his head and onto the ground.
I ran over and sat down next to him, holding his head and touching it softly.
"Ouch!" He jerked away from my touch.
"Sorry, sorry." I said, placing my hand on his shoulder instead.
"Zayn, it hurts." He whined, tears falling from his face rapidly.
"I know, we'll get help. I promise." I mentioned, pulling him into my chest and rubbing up and down his back.
"Okay." He whispered, quietly.
I looked down at his bruised up body, then finally at his arms.
Cuts everywhere.
"L-Liam..." I whispered. "Your arms."
"Zayn, I-" He started, but I cut him off.
"Liam, you can't do this!" I protested.
He began to say something, but I stopped him again.
"No, you're all I have. Please Li, don't do this." I let my emotions get the best of me and began crying.
He reached his hand up to my face and stroked my cheek.
"Zayn, I won't leave you. I would never do that." He said, frowning. "Please don't cry. Everything will be okay."
I grabbed his hand on my cheek with my hand and smiled at him.
He smiled weakly back up at me.
"Look, we have to get you home." I told him, trying to change the subject.
He looked up at me with worried eyes before he finally nodded slowly.
I pulled out my phone with one hand while leaving the other around his shaking body.
"Perrie, I need you to come pick Liam and I up at the park now." I told her.
"I'm on my way. Stay where you're at." She responded.
"Okay."
I turned off my phone and slid it into my back pocket before wrapping both arms around Liam tightly and keeping him close to me.
Perrie pulled up to the park after about 10 minutes.
She ran down the hill and over to us. "Is everything okay!?" She asked, worried.
I nodded and she brushed a loose piece of hair behind her ear.
She looked over at Liam and knelt down next to us.
"What did they do to you?" Perrie asked Liam.
He looked up at me and frowned before looking over at Perrie.
"I was shooting around and then they spotted me when they drove by. I didn't see Louis stop his car, or any of them running after me. The next thing I knew, Harry was holding me back while Niall and Louis punched the living daylights out of me. Luckily, Zayn came." Liam told us.
I sighed and shook my head.
"What do they want from Liam, Perrie?" I asked her.
She shook her head, "I don't know Zayn-but from the looks of it-they're not going to stop until they get what they want. You have to keep a close eye on Liam."
I looked down at Liam who was shaking and holding tightly onto me.
"I thi-think we sh-should leave now." He whispered weakly.
Perrie nodded and we both helped Liam up before walking him to her car. Liam and I sat in the back seat together while Perrie drove.
She looked through the front-view mirror at me and smiled a sweet smile.
"He loves you." She mouthed to me.
I smiled and shook my head, blushing.
Liam rested his head on me and I wrapped my arm around him.
When we reached his house, I helped him out of the car and thanked Perrie for the ride.
"No problem, anytime. Be safe!" She pointed to me with a serious face.
I laughed, "We will."
She pulled away while honking her car horn and waving to us.
Liam limped slightly and used me as a support to his front door.
Karen opened the door once I knocked.
"Oh my goodness, what happened to you baby!?" She gasped, hurrying to Liam and hugging him.
Liam groaned and winced, so Karen pulled away.
"Maybe we should talk about it inside, Mrs. Payne." I motioned to the door.
She looked down at Liam and then up at me before nodding.
She guided him inside to the couch and I followed closely behind. Karen sat on the rocking chair while Liam and I sat next to each other on the couch.
Liam rested his head on me once again, and I wrapped my arm around his shoulder.
"Zayn, what happened?" She asked me, fiddling with her hands.
I looked down at Liam for his permission and he nodded slightly in response.
"Karen," I spoke quietly, "Liam is being bullied."
She blinked with wide eyes and then shook her head.
"I've been protecting him, but the bullies aren't leaving him alone. They've actually been bullying him ever since the eighth grade. I'm really sorry." I said.
Liam snuggled closer to me and began crying. Karen got up off of the couch and crouched down beside him. She pulled Liam into her and hugged him tightly.
I felt tears streaming down my face but I wiped them.
"Zayn, you need to promise me that you'll take care of him." Karen spoke.
"Yes ma'am. I will, I promise." I responded, looking down at Liam.
He's my everything.
