Luke's POV
(Back to the performance)The boys and I pop into Julie's school to watch her try get her spot back.
"What are you doing here?"
Julie walks over to us leaving her friends behind
"We wanted to see you stick it to the man. Isn't that right boys"
I tell her hitting Reggie on the chest when he doesn't answer.
"Man I miss high school"
I look over to see what he's staring at
and nod in agreement at the group of sparkly girls singing and dancing.
The girls finish up dancing and two teachers start talking.
"What are you waiting for, this is your time."
Reggie asks when Julie makes no move for the stage.
I look over at the stage to see a piano just screaming out for her.
"Yeah, I mean you look nervous. Like, yack in a bowl nervous."
Alex says causing me to look back at Julie.
She did look nervous, I wish I could be on stage with her.
"I just don't think I had enough time to work on the song" she confesses to me
"I wouldn't have given you the song if I didn't think you were gonna rock it" I reassure her
"Now there's a piano on that stage with your name on it" I gesture to the piano.
I find myself biting my lip, a habit I have when I'm nervous or excited like I am now.
When the boys and I found out we were to play at the Orpheum
I bit my lip so much it bleed for two straight days.
Alex was so nervous I was gonna pass out from blood loss.
Julie nods and makes her way to the stage.
I look over to the right to see that of Julie's friends
only the loud one, Flynn was still there.
Jessie had left.
I feel slightly disappointed at not getting to see her.
She seems so intresting, she reminds me of a mix of Reggie and Alex,
fun loving, energetic, caring and talented.
I bring my attention back to Julie who's finally approaching the piano.
The boys and I watch as she starts to play and stops, looking towards us.
"You got this" I shout up to her and she starts playing again.Sometimes I think I'm falling down
I wanna cry, I'm calling outIt's surreal to hear our song finally getting a chance to be heard
I'm calling out for one more try
To feel aliveI finally notice Jessie when she jumps up the side of the stage and goes behind the curtain.
From where I'm standing I can she her start flirting with some guy infront of a console
who was probably the sound and light guy for the sparkly performance.
She hits a button on the machine, turning on Julie's spotlight and kisses him on the cheek.
I turn back to the boys both of them exchange looks and I know exactly what they're thinking.
"You good?" Alex lean's over to me "You look tense"
"I'm good, now let's do this" I grab both the boys by their shoulders
We pop onstage and begin playing with Julie. And rise through the night, you and I
We will fight to shine togetherJulie looks so happy to see us appear onstage with her, getting up to
walk towards us.
It feels so amazing to be back onstage.
I jump up on Alex's platform to jam with him.Bright forever
And rise through the night, you and I
We will fight to shine together, Bright foreverI look down from Alex's platform and realise that they can see us,
they can actually see us playing.
Julie leans towards me "Is this really happening?"
"Just go with it" I tell her excited to get to play for people again.
I make my way over to my mic and start singing. In times that I doubted myself
I feel like I needed some helpI'm so excited to be playing in-front of people again.
I look over at Julie to see her and Reggie rocking out together.
I wonder if she would be interested in joining the band.
