A small recap of Chapter 2:
"Well... As many people have said... The only way to go... Is forward..." She said as she grabbed her backpack and walked into the forest, unaware of the crazy adventures in store for her."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ahhh... The forest. A beautiful place where the trees grow, the rivers flow, the birds singing, and- "MOTHER F***ING SON OF A B****!!!!!!!!!!!" A Lillith is screaming in pain after tripping over a rock and falling down a hill, holding her now scraped knee.
Lillith had been walking for hours through the forest and it was already night time, which wasn't good for her at all. She was exhausted and desperately needed to find a place to rest and quickly. Luckily, there was a lake close to her and there was a small cave next to it. Free shelter and water, bonus! So without a second thought, she began to set up base.
She collected some wood for a fire and set it up before lighting it with a lighter she had in her backpack for emergency.
She then collected some big leaves to set up a little bed for comfort while sleeping."Ahhh... Now this isn't too bad. This'll be good for the night and in the morning, I'll hopefully find a town or something to help me out. It's a win win!"
She then began to eat some food from her backpack as she sat next to the warm fire. They weren't exactly healthy, but it was food. But as she ate her food, she was unaware of the small critter watching her from the distance.
A few oatmeal cream pies later, Lillith had fallen asleep with her blanket wrapped around her. However, her sleeping state didn't last long.
*Time Skip*
After at least 2 hours of sleep, she was woken up by the sound of something going through her stuff.
"Ugh... What the hell is that noi- OH SWEET LORD OF JESUS!!" She yelled out from fear, seeing a literal monkey with wings going through her backpack.
"WHA- HEY! THAT'S NOT YOURS! GIVE IT BACK YOU DUMB... Uhhh... B-BAT MONKEY!!!" She reached to grab her backpack back but before she could, the creature... Handed it to her?... Well that was unexpected.
Lillith sat there looking at this creature with wings, pondering what kind of creature it was. Meanwhile, the creature looked at her and the backpack with curiosity. Slowly she backed away to her fire and started to go through her backpack, checking if all her stuff was still there.
"Good. It's all there." She sighed in relief before looking back at the creature who was just sitting near the entrance of the cave. It was strange... Normally when an animal is caught trying to steal found or something like that, they run away and take what they stealing with them most of the time. But this one.... Instead of running away... It gave her backpack back willingly... One half of her mind pondered why it didn't run away with her backpack while the other half was trying to figure out what the hell it was. Was it a monkey? A bat? A monbat? Either way it hurt her brain thinking about it too much.
After a few seconds, she heard a growling sound and looked that the creature. The creature had it's arms wrapped around it's stomach as another growling sound was heard. That's when she realized why the creature was going through her backpack, it was looking for food! The poor thing must be starving.
At that moment, Lillith felt extremely guilty. She yelled at the poor thing and it was only looking for food because it was hungry. After a few seconds of cursing at herself mentally, she knew what to do.
The creature was just sitting at the enters of the cave, trying to ignore the pain of hunger in it's stomach as it ooked at the moon in the starry night sky. As it almost fell asleep, it felt something touch it's arm. As it turned it's head, it saw Lillith right next to it. Before it could do anything, she gave it a small bag of fruits.
"Here.... You must be starving...." At first, it was very confused and a bit cautious about her, but it took the fruits and began to eat them.
As Lillith watched the creature eat the fruits, she felt a cold breeze pass by and saw it shiver from the cold. Seeing this, she decided help the creature more than just giving it food. She tapped it's arm, making it look at her again.
"Hey..... Wanna... Come sit by the fire with me? It's pretty chilly......." Welp.... This was awkward. As she predicted, the creature looked like it didn't understand her at all.
'Okay, new plan...'
Lillith then took the creature's arm and pointed at the campfire, hoping that it would understand what she was saying.
Finally, the creature understood what Lillith was saying and followed her to the campfire to keep warm. It sat next to her close to the fire, snacking on more of the fruits in the bag as she layed on it's shoulder, very exhausted. The creature looked at her, slightly worried about her. As it stared at her, it noticed the handkerchief around her head. In curiosity, it made a grunting noice as it's finger tipped her head to get her attention.
After a few taps, Lillith looked at the creature. "What is it? Is something wrong?" The creature then pointed at your handkerchief, asking about what happened to her head in a way. "Oh this? I uhh.... I just hit my head on a tree branch while I was walking... Nothing to bad really."
"Liar....."
Lillith's eyes widened. There it was... That voice again.... Who is this person? However, her train of thought was interrupted by the creature as it grunted in worry.
"S-Sorry.... I.... I-I thought I heard something...." Lillith murmured, lying under her breath. After a bit, she relaxed as she rested on the creature's soft fur.
"I'm sorry...." Lillith murmured at the creature. "I'm sorry for yelling at you like that.... It's just.... It's been a very.... 'Hectic' day for me.... And I'm just really.... Really.... Tired...." She yawned, almost drifting off to sleep. But before she fell asleep, she asked the creature a question that no one has asked before.
"Quick question.... Do you.... Have a name?" This question caught the creature off guard. No one had ever asked it about it's name because.... It didn't have a name.... The creature shook it's head, saying no to the question. Lillith frowned, not having a name was just awful and sad, but she then got an idea.
"Well... How about we give you a name? Like.... Neko?" Lillith murmured, just about to fell asleep. After a moment of silence, the creature nodded, it loved the name. 'Neko'.... It was perfect.
When the creature turned it's head to look at Lillith, she was fast asleep as she snuggled against his fur. It smiled, wrapping a wing around her as an extra blanket before it fell asleep as well, thinking about it's new name.... Neko.... And his new master... Lillith...
However for Lillith.... Her sleep may not be as peaceful as she hoped it be.....
