A letter to Amy

It was night and all three finished dinner together and went to their rooms.
At Brett's bedroom,
Brett: (on call) Mike, You know Amy was talking about some papers. Do you have any idea about that.
Mike: Yes,I know she's talking about some will papers but I don't have have exact idea about that. Only Dad and Eli knew about those papers.
Brett: We have to find those papers first, but there is one more thing that you should know about.
Mike: I'm all ears.
Brett: So listen carefully. Today Jake got a call from Ms. Toner, they are both going to be here.
Mike: WHAT??
Brett: So both of you have to be cautious and do your work as if no one has any doubts on you.
Brett: ok i'll take care. Good night.
Mike: All the best. Good night.
Otherside At Jake's bedroom,
Presently Myra has fallen asleep in Jake's lap and Jake was thinking something by placing his head on the headboard.
suddenly Myra screamed in her sleep,
Myra: Mumma, where are you leaving me?please don't go. I'm scared. Don't go mumma please.
She was drenched in sweat and was breathing heavily. Jake hugged her tightly and said,
Jake: don't worry baby, I'm with you. You're not alone.
With that he pecked her face multiple times to calm her down. She slep after some time.
Jake: (thinking)
This little girl hides so much pain behind her smile. How do you bear all this alone? How do you understand so much at such a young age?? We're in the same condition, completely entangled in our lives.
Maybe that's why God sent you to me, Brett was right. I have to come back to my job for you. So Mr.Jake Toner get ready for your next mission.
At afternoon,
Brett and Myra went to the library, Jake was in his room. Both of them searched everywhere but could not find the secret locker anywhere. After some time, Brett got upset. His eyes filled with tears and he said,
Brett: I'm sorry Eli. Please forgive your brother. You have always treated me like your elder brother but I was not there with you when you needed me the most & still I can't do anything.
Myra: Please uncle, don't lose courage, we have to find those papers.
Then she took out a pendant from her pocket, opened it and said,
Myra: please Mumma. Please help us to find that documents.
Brett threw a pen down in anger which scared Myra. Then he saw that the pen slid under a bookshelf and made some noise.
Myra: Uncle,what kind of sound is this ??
Brett: I also felt strange. Let me check under this bookshelf.
When he slides the bookshelf, a metal box came out from under it. But that box was locked and the lock was also of a strange shape.
Brett: I have never seen such a locker, where will we get the key from now??
While thinking like this, his eyes fell on Myra's pendant and he saw that the pendant was of exactly the same shape.
Brett: Myra, who gave you this pendant??
Myra: My mumma.
Brett: Okay, maybe she already knew about these things. Now give me that this is the key to this box.Look, both of them are in the same shape.
Myra nodded & gave that pendant to Brett. When he opened the pendant, it also contained a photo of Jake and Ellie's wedding, which Brett became emotional after seeing.
Myra: uncle ,do it fast. Otherwise Dada will catch both of us.
When he opened the box, some property papers came out. Brett kept it in his pocket without looking. Then both of them quickly put everything in its place as before.
After some time Jake came to the library and asked,
Jake: you both got your story book or not??
Brett/Myra: Yes .
Then Brett's eyes fell on Jake. He wore a black formal dress as if he was going to a business meeting.
Brett: Are you going somewhere J??
Jake: Try to remember Brett haven't you ever seen me like this before??
Brett: This means you really agreed??
Brett got up from the couch and hugged Jake tightly and said,
Brett: Welcome back to your own kingdom, my most talented Mr. Private Detective Jake Toner. (Shaking hands)
While both of them were talking, Myra looked towards the window and whispered,
Myra: Finally.
Then she said to maintain the drama,
Myra: Can anyone tell me what's going on here?
Jake/Brett: nothing.
Myra: Huh??
Jake: So,the thing is that I was not a businessman before, I was a private detective & I have solved many mysterious cases. After so many years, again a case has come and I have to join my old job again.
Myra: Really??
Jake: Yes,my princess. So let's go for lunch now.
He took Myra in his arms and went towards the kitchen and asked Brett to also come.
After lunch, Jake went to meet his old detective team to resume his work. After that, Brett and Myra went to Jake's room to check the papers that they had found in that box.
When he opened those papers, Brett was completely surprised and thought,
Brett: (How can this happen?? And if this is true then why did they do this to Eli? And why didn't Eli tell Jake about all this? )
He was thinking like this when another paper fell from his hands. When he opened that paper he was even more surprised.
Brett: WHAT?? Eli divorced Jake?
Myra: No,uncle. This cannot be possible, you must have misunderstood something.
Brett: No baby,look. These are divorce papers & it also has Eli's signature on it.
Myra: But... Uncle wait there is also a letter here, let's read it first, maybe there will be some information in it which Mumma wants to give us.
Brett: Yes, you're right. I am not able to understand anything right now, we should read that first.
Then he took that letter from Myra n started reading,
The letter,
My princess Amy,
It's your mumma. I know you have a lot to ask me, but by the time you reach this letter, I probably won't be with you. But I want to say one thing that you should never consider yourself alone, I will always be with you. Mumma loves you so much my princess. And always remember my one thing, your Dada, Mike uncle n uncle Brett, these three are your family. Don't trust anyone except them. And yes, don't bother Dada too much. Wherever I am, I will always see you both from a distance.
You might have found a divorce paper in it, just burn that paper. I love your Dada very much son, you know that you both are everything to me. You are too young to understand all this, but when you grow up, ask your Dada about our story and he will tell you everything.

Myra bursts into tears after hearing all this.
Brett hugged her and said,
Brett: No baby, you have to stay strong for your Mumma. Our mission hasn't even begun properly.
Brett: Now I have to take all these papers to Mike, no one will even know. And I'm sorry Eli, we have to keep these divorce papers with us too. This is also a strong evidence for us.
Later that evening, when Jake returned home, Brett and Myra were playing in the living room.
Jake: seems like no one has missed me the whole day.(looking towards Myra)

Jake: Have you started going to school??
Myra: Yes,Uncle. I'm in standard 2.
Jake: Do you have any friends there?
Myra: no i don't like talk n make friends with anyone.
Jake: (thinking)
(Oh God, she's talking like Eli again)
Okay, fine. We will go to your school tomorrow so that you can resume your studies.
Myra: okay.
Jake: Now sleep. Good night, my drama queen.
Myra: I'm no...
Jake covered her mouth with his hands and said,
Jake: You're a drama queen. My drama queen. Now sleep (pecked her forehead)
Jake: (thinking)
(I don't know what is happening but why am I thinking of that woman again and again?? Today because of her I am completely alone, if she had not cheated me then I would have been with my princess today. I don't know where my baby is. I loved you with all my heart, what was missing in my love that you cheated on me?Why did you separate me from my baby? Why?? Now I don't want to lose you Myra)
He hugged Myra tightly and fell asleep.
But he did not know that someone was looking at both of them with loving eyes. It's none other than Eli.
Eli: Please forgive me. I haven't cheated on you. I still love you so much. I can't see so much hatred for me in your eyes.
Jake: Why did you do this??why you cheated on me, just WHY??
Eli: No, i didn't cheat you. Please listen to me once.

Eli: I haven't done anything wrong, you don't know how much I suffered at that time. I had no other options.
Jake: Except betraying me??
Eli: I have not cheated. Yes, I admit that I had kept you away from our baby but...
Jake: Don't...don't you dare to call her your baby. She's only mine. Gimme her back to me.
Eli: I can't give you.
Jake: What do you mean, you can't?? IF YOU CAN'T THEN GO AWAY FROM HERE. I DON'T EVEN WANNA SEE YOUR FACE.

Jake: Love!! Do you even know the meaning of love?? What was your compulsion that you separated a father from his daughter?Was that compulsion greater than my love?? You didn't even think once about that innocent soul? You know I left my job which was once my passion. my family went away from me. I don't even know how many days I've been searching for you alone on the streets.
can you give me my happiness back?? Can you give me back my family, my Amy, my old days? JUST ANSWER ME.
Eli: ....
Jake: What happened??you don't have any answer, right?? I knew it..I KNEW IT. That's why I hate you..I JUST HATE YOU..
Then Jake woke up, he was panting heavily and was drenched in sweat. When he looked at the clock it was 2 o'clock in the night. He got up from the bed and went to the balcony & standing there he started thinking,
( Today for the first time you tried to talk to me in my dreams, but what did you want to tell me? Is there really something I don't know?? )
Then he looked towards Myra n thought,
( Do I already know this girl?? I didn't let any child come near me after Amy, but what happened to me now?I will have to find out about her soon.)
