Kicking back through the doors into the head facility in Greed, the whole team had found an air of full swing, charging forward as Crow snapped the lighting grid on full power. Energy coursed through the veins of the factory as conveyor belts and tool-assisted machines powered into life again, and a very sleepy, startled Wrench jolted forward, the spark plug in his mechanical arm sending volts of searing hot energy into his cyborg enhancements. "Bzzt!! Ack!" Wrench shouted, crashing backward onto the floor with a start. The loud noise brought footsteps to the Nazi Engineer's position, revealing Deck, Crow and Harley.
Deck leaned forward, silver gauntlets crossed behind his back in smug appreciation. "Morning sunshine. Didja sleep well?" Wrench rolled over, tearing the sparking socket out of his arm and tossing the power cable across the floor with a groan. "Do NOT ever vake me up like zhat again, do I make myself clear?" Wrench grumbled, crawling slowly to his feet. Crow nodded, lending a hand to catch the cold steel of the traitorous soldier's cyborg arm, helping him from the dusty floor. "Sorry about that, Wrench. We just got back, and we brought someone else with us." Wrench raised his deep black steel eyebrows in surprise, using the lighter tip of his thumb to burn a cigar.
"Sure, sure. Who is zhis newcomer you've dragged back here?" He muttered, but as Wrench collected his thoughts into a neat file, a loud, booming voice rocked the factory, filling a great void that once had been. "WOWIE!! Golly, this place hasn't aged a day, huh?" Wrench spun as if stung by a hornet, eyes fixating on the long, lanky figure supporting themselves on the balcony above the platform. "You're pulling my leg," he scrambled to gasp, but as the wire thin figure took flight, large wings protruding from his back, Wrench felt something like the sting of tears glitching his circuits. "Impossible," he breathed, while Deck moved to plant a gauntlet on the Nazi Engineer's shoulder.
"Nah, not quite. A good miracle brought him back here and ready for work once again." As the large Sinner's wings tore away the dust and shavings on the floor, polished shoes clicked on the stone floor while hand fastened the suit, tie and top hat of the individual. Shrap fixed his mask, last but most certainly not least, then reached a free hand down to shake with Wrench. "What's the matter, pal? You act like you've seen a ghost." Wrench stumbled forward, then threw himself into Shrap in an uncharacteristic hug. Shrap laughed, returning the act of kindness with a four armed embrace. "Heh. Good to see you too, buddy."
Breaking the silence in the large room by clapping his hands together, Crow tilted his beak skyward to the office space above the factory setting. "We, sorry, I need to find some files before we move to the Living World with this." Deck saluted in a military stance, keeping a goofy, displaced grin set on his pale gold jawline. "Sir yes sir!" He barked, to which the Plague Infector laughed aloud, his voice echoing around the facility. Crow mounted a steel staircase to the second floor, crossing the platform into his office when his phone buzzed, shaking his pocket. Crow tilted his beak downward, pulling out the device as he checked the notification.
Down below the office, Wrench fixed his cap and the patch on his shoulder, resetting his personality. "Ahem. My apologies, sir. I simply haf not seen you in qvite some time is all." Shrap popped the collar of his suit, nodding. "Ah, don't kid yourself too much, ol' buddy old pal. To tell you the truth, I was just starting to feel a bit homesick myself." Shrap kicked back in a rotating chair, spinning around the office with lanky limbs like tree branches for the group to dodge and duck under. "The card says we've got thirty minutes left until I have to get back to Living. Who wants to come with me?" Deck stepped forward, slinging his diamond-shaped shield across his back.
"If it's perfectly alright with you, Shrap, do you mind if I go?" Harley stepped forward from behind in puzzlement and concern for her lover. "Why do you want to go with him, Deck?" She asked. The armored demon turned around, wrapping his fingers closed over his lover's. "Harley, you can't deny it. Even after those years ago, when we helped Jack escape from Hell, a part of me really wanted to see the other side. I've heard so many stories from Crow, Shrap, Jack and Wrench about what exists in the Living World, and no matter how filthy or awful it may be, I want to die peacefully, knowing that I saw the sun, the real sun."
Harley paused, her eyes reflecting guilt and torment at the notion of being separated from her lover. However, the speckles of her jeweled, beetle eyes shone with faith and relief as she sighed deeply, chewing her pincers in a risky confidence. "I trust that you know what you're doing, Decklyn. Don't make me a fool for putting my faith in you." Deck laughed, stepping back as he leapt atop a nearby conveyor belt, twisting over onto a handstand walk. "Ah, it'll be alright, queenie. You've got nothing to worry about if I'm going with my buddies." Shrap twisted around the steel lampshade by the conveyor belt, wrapping a lanky arm around the handstand navigating demon.
"You have my word, Missus Harley! This guy is under our protection from now until likely ever!" Harley raised an eyebrow in concern, but after further explanations, promises and even a dedicated format of who was going and who was staying, Harley agreed to let her husband travel above to visit the Living World. Deck and Shrap exchanged gleeful, almost childish noises before rushing into the office space with Crow. Harley sighed, slumping over on a workbench littered with tools and a cutting board. "Why do I feel like everything's just falling apart?" Wrench scoffed, crossing his arms while admiring the office space and the flickering blinds in the window.
"Oh, don't beat yourself up. Deck is a vild animal at heart. But he vill return, eventually." Harley pinched her upper lip, eyes quivering with concern. "Part of me wants to believe that, Wrench. It really does."
