NIRUPAMA

(Some Secrets May Better Remain Secrets Forever)

'I cannot bear this', 'I want to pluck my eyes out' only these two sentences were the clues which the late girl Nirupama left in writing one on a wall and one in a book quite unintentionally and involuntarily to know about the reason for her committing suicide. Her father Ranganath, detective Smaran and his niece Menaka along with Nirupama's friend Sukanya pretty well understood that Nirupama did not want the said secret to be known to anyone else. But since her father Ranganath hell bent upon knowing about the said secret, detective Smaran and his niece Menaka ruthlessly investigated the matter only to unearth the said ghastly, shocking and astounding secret which the dead girl terribly wished to keep only with her in her grave forever.

"I am so happy that you have come to my office like this." looking at Niranjan, Smaran said.

"In fact I have been thinking to come to you for a long time but could manage to come only on this day."

"Tell me? What indeed made you to decide to come to me now?"

"You appeared as an interesting person to me. So I want to see more of you by coming into your office." Niranjan paused for a moment and said. "Your office is indeed very neat and good. You are keeping it in the best way possible."

"Thank you very much for your liking my office. Really I like keeping my premises clean and good." Smaran said.

There was some silence between them both then. Smaran was about to say something then Niranjan said.

"Yesterday Sukanya and her mother came to me."

"Is it is so? For what purpose?"

Then Niranjan explained to Smaran with what Sukanya was suffering.

"No surprise. I came to know that Nirupama was a very close friend to Sukanya. Her sudden death like that caused such problems to Sukanya. I think you have given the best treatment and medication to her." Smaran said.

"No treatment and no medicine. I have just made her realize the nature of thoughts and how to control them." Then Niranjan explained to Smaran what he asked Sukanya to do.

"Indeed very best treatment in my opinion." Smaran nodded his head appreciating.

"It is not just that" then Niranjan explained to him about the dream that Sukanya got. Then said "Sukanya is strongly feeling that Nirupama never likes that secret out which compelled her to commit suicide."

"But the Nirupama in her dream is not real Nirupama. It was only her mind. Then how it would be Nirupama's wish?"

"It is not just basing on the dream. But considering some other things also, she is thinking that Nirupama does not want to let her secret out."

"Alright, I agree. But what you and me can do in this? It is Ranganath who asked me to unearth the truth. If Ranganath asks me to stop this I surely stop it."

"I have already talked with Ranganath about this. He is stubborn to know about that secret."

"If it is so, I don't think I can do anything in this matter. There is an agreement also between me and that Ranganath."

"I agree." Niranjan nodded his head. "But do the one last attempt to change his mind. Anyhow it is quite evident to all of us that Nirupama did not want that truth to be out. I am thinking that it is better leaving it like that." Niranjan earnestly said. "I also make one last time attempt to change his mind if opportunity comes."
