As Aether drifted off to sleep, he entered a dream world. One that seemed exactly like his, but everything seemed.. off.
The dream started off by him walking into what seemed like his own kitchen and greeting his sister who in turn said something inaudible.
The dream blurred, and he found himself in a school setting, his first period it seemed.
He looked around, confused and dazed on how he got here.
To his left was Xiao, who looked away as he seemingly had gotten caught staring. Aether found this weird, and tried to say something, but it was like he couldn't. His body wasn't cooperating with him.
First period turned into second, second turned into third and the day continued forward. Every class that didn't have Xiao in them were seemingly skipped, at this point he found himself at a lunch table.
As his body had sat down, he found his consciousness outside. Watching his body eat. At this point he knew it wasn't real, and this was a dream, and tried waking up. But he couldn't.
Two minutes passed, someone sat down next to him. Aether couldn't properly see who it was, there were no identifying features he could see.
He attempted to move closer, but once again he found himself stuck in place. He looked back at the pair, as he saw the mystery person coming into focus.
It was Xiao. The teal streaks in his hair and his (beautiful) amber eyes giving away his identity. Why would he sit next to me, even in a dream? Aether had thought.
Aether watched as the dream Aether and Xiao talked. There was seemingly no bickering, which was odd for the pair.
But what really shocked Aether was when Xiao took dream Aether's face in his hands and leaned in

Xiao's pov:
Aether jumped awake beside me, making me jump in response.
"Geez, what kind of nightmare did you have to wake up like that." I rolled my eyes, I really didn't care, honestly.
"A really terrible one, be glad you didn't see it." He rubbed his eyes, pressing pause on his still-playing music.
"Uh-huh. I bet you think everything could be a nightmare, coward." I scoffed.
He glared at me, not saying anything in return, for which I was grateful. I didn't really want to continue a conversation with him.
Five-ish minutes after our short talk ended, the bus came to a stop and the trip director boarded, telling us that we had arrived at the hotel.
"Now students, if you would stay with your room partner and follow me to the front desk, you'll all be able to get your room keys and rest before tomorrow."
Me and Aether grabbed our stuff, staying far apart but in each other's sights as we followed the trip director to the front desk.
We were each given a key card after waiting in line for a while.
"Room 904." The attendant said as she handed us the cards, giving us a puzzled look. I don't know why she's so confused, but it can't be good.
Me and Aether made our way to room 904, he unlocked the door and held it open for me. It was a nice room. There was a small sitting area with a couch and tv. A bathroom with a large bathtub and sink.
Author's pov:
As the boys continued looking through the hotel room, Aether found the bedroom first, immediately dropping his bag and standing completely still. Shocked.
Xiao was obviously confused on why he was no longer making any noise and went to go see what he was seeing.
"You've GOT to be kidding me." Xiao sighed. "You're taking the floor!" Aether yelled, jumping on the singular bed.
