FLASHBACK
Jamila's pov
I stared down at a little blonde girl with rainbow tips on her hair sobbing to herself. She refused to look up at me despite the constant comfort I provided for her. Ever since Cody's death, she hasn't been quite the same... Nobody knows how or why he's gone but clearly Melodie blames herself.
Melodie's pov
No... No... STOP! Don't make me pick! I- I- I can't k-kill him! I screamed as Elizabeth hovered over me, yelling commands from all directions. My breathing grew heavy as panic set in, making it increasingly difficult to hold it in. Soon, I found myself huddled in a corner, my back against the wall, as a group of at least 5 seniors gathered around me, their expressions a mix of concern and readiness to assist. "I-I'm not crazy! Leave me alone!!" I shouted before hastily fleeing the bathroom and making a dash for my locker.
The familiar voice echoed in my mind, glitching and repeating the haunting words: "You can't get rid of me that easily!" I felt my legs weaken as I struggled to maintain my balance. Clutching my head tightly, I fumbled with the lock of my locker, each movement accompanied by a tremor. The voice persisted, refusing to be ignored, as I grappled with the overwhelming sensation that it was closing in on me.
"We want you back, Melodie, but this time we might switch it up a bit"
"NO! NO! Get away! N-n-n-n-o n...o... N-"
I hit the ground and all went black.
