Jirou's POV:
I saw Izuku leap into the air and slash at that mystery man with a flaming blade, at least I think it was on fire. He landed and slumped down to his knees before throwing up a large amount of blood before falling to the side. "Izuku!" I shouted rushing to him and pulling his head up, his skin was scorching to the touch but I didn't care. "Come on stay awake! Stay with me!" I was tearing up something fierce.
Melissa rushed over and checked him recoiling at the slightest touch of his skin. "He is burning hotter than I have ever felt on human skin!" she shouted. "I know he normally runs hot but this is insane. Todoroki we need to cool him off some could you make some ice please?"
"Yeah I can do that," he quickly made some ice and melissa broke it apart well and placed it in Izuku's cloths to help cool him off.
"That should help for a bit but the ice seems to be melting fast," Melissa said. "Todoroki you stay here, I'll go and get the attention of some heroes."
About 30 minutes later me and Izuku were in the back of an ambulance with a tech doing everything to cool him off. "Kyo," Izuku said softly coming to slightly. "Sweetie contact my Dad, tell him to meet us at UA with the people I was training with."
"Izuku you really shouldn't be talking and the ambulance is takeing us to the local hospital-" I started ranting but he cut me off.
"They won't know any of my bodies oddities," he said. "I have to be treated by grandma for a reason, and someone with my dad should be able to speculate on what happened exactly when I fought my battle then ran here."
"Okay fine," I said before adressing the EMT. "Can you tell the driver to rush us to UA. I have a call to make." he nodded telling the driver, and I pulled out my phone dialing Mr. Yagi's number.
"Hey, is everything okay Jirou?" he asked.
"Izuku want's you and his training partners to meet us at UA," I said. "Something is wrong with Izuku, his body tempeture is far higher than it normally is and he has a new scar on the cheek opposite his birthmark."
"I'm getting us all in the car now, should arrive shortly after you guys," he said. "You will have to fill recovery girl in on what happened."
"Right," I said. "See you when you arrive." We continued in mostly in silence from then on out only broken by Izuku groaning over his body's temperature.
After arriving at UA we rushed him to the infirmary and after he was set up properly I filled in grandma Chiyo. She went to work doing her best to lower his body temp from there, and when Mr. Yagi arrived the three others with him rushed in to help. I told him what happened in more detail, and we waited for any news really. About two hours later that demon guy, Yushiro I think his name was, came out and informed us we could come in now and that they managed to bring his body back to its normal temperature.
"We believe that the stress he experienced in the battle before he showed up where you were was enough to trigger something related to his Demon Slayer's mark." Yushiro explained as he walked us in.
"Demon Slayer's mark what's that?" I asked.
"Izuku's birthmark isn't just a birthmark." Rengoku chimed in. "In the Sengoku era most of the demon slayers had one including Izuku's former life. You could say his previous life is the origin of them in fact since they only began appearing after he had joined."
"What's so special about this mark?" Mr. Yagi asked.
"The mark trades life span for increased power." Rengoku said.
"It's the reason why demons were almost wiped out in that era." Akaza explained. "The shortened lifespan is drastic reducing the life expectancy to around the age of 25, with only one known exception outside of becoming a demon. Yoriichi survived well into old age and still nearly managed to slay the highest ranked demon under Muzan before dying on his feet."
"What does this all mean for Izuku?" I asked very concerned now.
"He should be perfectly fine if he doesn't have it constantly activated." Yushiro said gesturing to his face. "See how the other scar is gone, that means it is no longer activated. He will be in here for a few days though since is body is still pretty beat up. The problem or what we think was the problem back in the sengoku era was demon slayers kept the mark activated at all times which put a massive strain on their body per the requirements to activate the mark."
"Which are?" I asked.
"First someone who already has the mark must be present." Rengoku said. "But that is covered by Izuku here. Second you must reach a specific internal body temperature the same one that is normal for Izuku. Third you bodies beats per minute must exceed a certain threshold, around Izuku's normal BPM should suffice."
"But it should be noted that in the time Tanjiro and we were used to the mark was rarely achieved in anything short of a life or death situation." Yushiro said. "Also Izuku probably would not like any of you to manifest the mark, since as Rengoku said they can be dangerous."
"I don't really plan on unlocking it if it is unnecessary." I said. "What does this all mean for Izuku's health, in simple terms please."
"Simply put he is most likely going to be just fine." Grandma Chiyo said. "If he should use this more often in the future it is likely he will shorten his lifespan some, which is a potential risk."
"Well then we really need to make sure he doesn't have to use that mark again." I said as I pulled my phone out and texted everyone to meet up at the Yagi's as soon as they could.
Earlier Tanjiro's POV:
I stumbled and clutched my chest falling to the ground. It felt like my entire chest was burning, and I couldn't heal instantly. Kurogiri rushed over and supported me.
"Sir what's wrong I've never seen you fail to heal like this." He said. "Oh there your body goes, it seems to be healing now, that's good."
I grabbed him by the face and shoved him down to the ground. "It's not good!" I said. "My perfect body shouldn't even be able to be this damaged!" Suddenly my body seized up and I fell forward onto the ground.
3rd POV:
The upper moons who had been gathered were frantic. Of course they were, their master and king was now passed out with no logical explanation. It was Upper Moon 1 who decided it would be best for them to place him in his bed to rest. After that they left to discuss what they should do.
In the demon king's room changes were happening. The scar across the Tanjiro's slowly began to change color from its dark blue hue to a more maroon color. Well this was happening the body remained at rest till he violently sat up and opened his eyes. His eye color had changed from its normal pink color, to a dark red.
< Sorry this took so long I was having trouble with the ending of this chapter. >
