9. Good News: It's A Good Day

Suddenly, I heard my cell ringing in the hall. I went to the hall quickly and answered the phone. It was Jane, my bestie.

"Hi, dear!"  She always starts our conversation with this salutation.

'Hi! Good morning!'

"Morning! What's up?"

'Not much.'

"Well, seems I heard a tone telling me that you're hiding something!"

'How about changing the channel?!'

"Come on! You can't expect me to believe you! Let's arrange to meet."

'Good idea.'

"How about 4:30?"

'Great. Same place?'

"Yes. You know, MCJ's my favorite place."

'I know it well. It's a good choice actually.'

"Agree. See you there."

'Sure. See you.'

"Wait, don't forget to spill the beans when we meet there!"

'Oh, God! I wonder why you didn't pick journalism as your profession! Hopefully, there are no beans to be spilled. I invite you to talk over our business plan. Did you work on it?'

"Thanks for your invitation! Yes, I worked on it and prepared a draft. Did you check your emails?"

'Well, I've been busy these days. I'll check my mail today. Thanks for sending the draft.'

"You're welcome. You've been busy these days? Something odd is going on! You're acting like a weird oddball!"

'I'm not an oddball! I'm kind of odd-ish!'

"Ha ha ha! What a nice confession! That's why I'm proud of you!"

'Thanks and I'm proud of you for being quick and smart.'

"Oh, you make me blush! Besides, don't be suspicious today!"

'I'm not. Your curiosity makes me look like a suspicious weirdo!'

"I know. Then, I must discover the beans by myself!"

'Good luck!'

"In short, you titled yourself as a secret squirrel!"

'And you as a secret admirer!'

"Oh my God! You hit the nail on the head!"

'ha ha ha! No doubt!"

"You better take the time and work on our business plan, too!"

'Got your point precisely!'

"You take the cake!"

'A good deed is its own reward!'

"True. So, please bring a modified draft with you at 4:30."

'I'll do my best.'

"Great. See you with the draft."

'Sure. See you.'

Our conversations are funny most of the times. First, let me introduce my best friend. Her name is Jane Florence Spencer. She's smart and attractive with the most beautiful eyes. We were classmates and graduated in the management field. However, my major was construction management and hers was business management. We've been friends for around 20 years. Definitely, good old friends! That's why she's my bestie. I don't want to make her upset, so let me check my emails!
